Dev Diary #1 July 2022

Hello everyone! I have recently started work on creating a visual novel game! I am currently in the early stages of planning and development but I would like to take you, my lovely Patreon members, along for the ride as I figure out my first every game!

The theme of the game will of course be Transformation. As the player character  you will be at a Resort that specializes in Transformations to unlock your true self. Through-out your journey you will meet a cast of other people who are in the process of transforming and help them along their journeys. The Transformation itself takes some time, so while someone you meet on Day 1 appears to be completely human, the next day you might notice a muzzle starting to grow in, or a new tail.

The overall theme of this game will be about acceptance, self discovery and becoming your true and honest self. Each character will have different reactions to how they transform, different personalities, and different story lines while you progress through their friendship with them.

Of course, while watching others Transform is plenty of fun, even more fun is to Transform yourself! While you are at the resort to Transform yourself, your character hasn't quite figured out what species they would like to become yet. It is up to you to meet the cast of the game, build up your friendship with them through multiple interactions then decide to change yourself into the same species once your friendship reaches a certain level. Your transformation will also take place over several, in-game days and be tied into the story of the character you have picked to share a species with.

Now I am sure you are wondering who is this handsome lion pictured above? This is Florian, one of the first characters in development for this game. He is a young Trans Masc person who has made the decision to Transform himself into a Lion. While he may seem quiet and shy at first, as he transforms and throughout his story arc he becomes more confident and bold.

Originally I had wanted the Title of the game to be "Just One Bite", which I am still throwing the idea around a bit, but I do think I want to open up the trigger for the Transformations to be more than just one bite. What sort of TF triggers would you like to see in this game?

While currently still very early in development this is so far the basic premise of the game. I am sure there will be several stumbling points to come with the development of a game for the first time but I am determined to make something, even if it is only small. I shall try my best to create a monthly Dev Diary like this one detailing my current progress on the game for all my $5 and up Patrons and in the future create a "Gamer Tester" Tier when I eventually have the game in a playable state.

What do you think of this game? Are there any particular species you would absolutely love to see in this game? Should Transformations in this world be considered non-permanent, option to be either or, or just left up the imagination of the player? Should their be romantic options (SFW) or should it remain on the Friendship meter?

I will appreciate any feedback on the development of this game as I move forward.
