Patreon Tutorial #56 - Houdini & Cinema 4D Deadline Setup *Available November 4th*

Hey guys! This month's tutorial is going to cover something technical that I have seen requested over the years. As many of you may be aware from watching some of my tutorials, I tend to render out my batch renders using Deadline. This amazing render manager can manage all sorts of different DCCs and Tools, and best of all, it is entirely FREE! This makes it a very enticing option for users looking to automate some of their workflow or improve their batch rendering management.

Many people try to use Deadline but very quickly run into hurdles due to the installation process or plugin issues. This is made worse by the fact that there is very little information on the internet that is artist-friendly, it is mostly technical documentation or forum posts. There is also next to no support for the application which makes forum help slow, and release updates supporting new DCC versions even slower.

This is why I decided to make a 2 part tutorial breaking down the install process for the Deadline Repository and Client. Along with detailing how to install the Houdini/Cinema 4D plugins and how to customize the plugins if needed to add support for versions of a DCC not yet officially supported by Deadline. I also will cover how to create worker instances to leverage on multi-GPU setups, using the Redshift Command-Line renderer with Deadline and more.

This is a bit more of a pipeline/technical tutorial but something I believe needed to be covered. This hopefully gets more people interested in using Deadline for their projects. This tutorial will be available for all my Patrons on November 4th. Thanks again guys for all the support and have a great day!

Perfect timing 👌

Deadline is awesome, but it is tricky. You can leverage it for some much stuff though, RS CLI, any regular DCC Batch, Altus denoising CLI, FFMPEG, all sorts of stuff. Really cool free app everyone should have installed.
