All Small Stuff in April.

In the month of April I'm going to give it my best shot to NOT make a huge design. So far I have had to make myself quit designing one orc citadel and one halfling castle. So it is not going great but I am trying to put on a brave face and power through.

Halfling Home

First up, the halfling home is almost done. I have a bit more work to do on built-in supports for the overhang and some small edits. I guess next month I'll knock out some furnishings for it. There are a few longer prints on this but halfling floors are only about 32mm tall. No overhead attacks for anything dwarf-size or larger. It does have 2 floors and a bit of a watch tower in the old tree stump.

Edit: Added some images of test prints 3/23

The design is printed and primed so I should have a finished model to show soon!

Standing Stones

I'm working on a scalable set of standing stones. I expect to put out one set clean and later on, another with various dressings and symbols. There are a few larger ones here, I've tried to give each one a bit of its own character. Most all of these are at least based on a real life site. None of them are from Stone Hedge.

Mini Stands

I'm doing some dungeon stone tile this month. There has also been a request for blanks as well. I'll get all that processed and out next month. If most folks are still okay with them, I'll knock out wood planks and grassland in May. Then we can start getting more adventurous with it. At least that's the plan right now:)

Small Celtic Round House Settlement

2 huts, one ruin, and one round fence are planned for this feature. One hut has a tall roof for grain storag. The fence is designed around a 2' circle and should find a lot of use anytime you need a fenced homstead. The huts have close to a 8" outside diameter so there will be plenty of play space. THere was not room for the insertable pegs so these models will have a traditional stacking nub design. The wall is OpenLOCK:)

Thanks for stopping in and checking out the progress!

Thanks rob, it is test printing better than expected as well. I thought I'd have a good chance at stringing on the steep roof but it came out clean at .2 :)

The thatch on the Celtic Round Houses looks perfect!

Ha,! I'll think about knocking out a stone wheel foot car:)

Me, an intellectual: Sees megalithic structures and considers their historical context. Also me: Sings the Flintstones theme internally on loop

Thanks a bunch Marshall:)

Looking good!

Thanks Heath, I'm glad you're enjoying the stuff. I try to put out an amount of work that reflects the full support of the community. I will admit that is starting to be a lofty goal and could eventually be impossible. For now I'd like to think this set up gives the community a little flexibility if I need to change direction on something and keeps things focused on the overall journey.

The amount of prints you provide for the price is insane! Super happy with supporting you and I would be happy to pay more if you decided to up the price.

Thanks for the comment CommisarSnake:)

Thanks for checking it out Heath:)

Sounds awesome, I'm glade the stars aligned. I'd love to see images of the Inn and your board if you want to put some up on the discord at some point:)

Wow, these look fantastic!

Huh, okay, that'd be nice change of pace for me and I think a ton of people would be into to that for a month, might make some space for me to slip in a few 28mm characters as well. I'm locked in for April but I'll use some of your concepts and start outlining for May, maybe mix in some of the encounter based ideas that got floated on the the merchant thread. I've been looking for a small scale concept to start messing around with slide in inventory walls so I think there is a lot there. Thanks for the suggestion.

Yeah, small scatter stuff and smaller building to fill up locations and bring it more to life. Village/Town: small stable, pig sty, chicken coop, chopped wood pile, shed, granary, work sites ( potter, carpenter, stone mason, fisher, dye, butcher, etc), notice board, baths. For the goblins a shelter for wolves, some smaller huts/tents, a river or swamp boat just to round out the sets.

Hi Marc, you mean like smaller furnishings and items for ruins and the goblin stuff?

Thumbs Up! Hopefully there will be a bunch of small stuff to complement the previous builds.

looking good

Yes, I do like the big pieces, but it really does slow down the production! FYI ... I had been planning for months a mystery adventure that occurs in a remote Inn. Your Inn was perfect, but I needed 6 chambers - so that is 4 floors - 16 big prints plus the roof!!

John Campbell

Thanks Raphaël! I'm sure many are ready to take a break from pushing long prints through.

Sounds like you could use a couple months of smaller stuff:)

Ha, I wish, I think some folks would run out of patience with halfling skyscrapers. Only high living halflings I can think of is Dark Sun where they live on cliffs.

We are still getting the eighteen story extension to the halfling home, right?

Mark Croker

Like that Halfling house. Still printing the Inn - one day at a time. Should be able to start level 3 tomorrow. So it maybe mid-April before I can print anything else.

John Campbell

I like your big designs but I like being able to print an entire building in a couple of days even more :) so thank you for this "small stuff", it looks great.
