November Preview I : Underdark Road & Warehouse test prints

Posting a quick mid-month preview. Just about done with a 2 tier merchant road intended for an underdark water cavern. I have to do a ramp. I'll add special feature roads in December.  For November we are releasing an 11 or 12 part base road. There are few specifics to mention in relation to the "Roads to Adventure " stuff. Looks like it will need some islands as well.

This road is slightly larger than the one lane roads. It is 3 inches of usable area . Many of our previous roads (minus the huge King's Road) are in the 2-2.5 inch range for usable road.

Using just one openlock clip so there is more room for stacking pegs.

Can use the Tops or Tops and bottoms like the swamp road we did. I'll look at a swamp transition road next month. I can see people wanting an underground that opens up to sinkhole or crater swamp area.

We are also finishing up our warehouse test prints, I have one with the 3 unique middle and one repeat to make a 36 inch warehouse. I hope to wrap up development this weekend so I can triple check the file packing on the second part before release.  I'll be moving on to do odds and ends and some smaller resin stuff for the rest of the month.

Hey Mark, I'll take a look at it. I think with both the T and L the issue is staying under 8 inches on the build plate and seeing how weird the roof mechanics get. Yes a T would be nicer for sure. I'll take a look at al a loft as well. I will need it on the december release to get it designed and tested. I had a list of stretchgoals for this thing originally. One item that is 70% done is a giant merchant guild house that can snap onto one end so that the basement level can be a bar or guild training hall. I'm thinking maybe February/March for that.

The other thing I thought of is have an 'open' second floor section to use without the stairs. Would be barn-like where you get to loft by ladder but supplies are hoisted.

Or a 'T'. The point you made about joints in the road applie's to the warehouse to. With one directional joints like >>>> you can't turn a section around like >>><. But if you make the joint bi-directional like ZZZZ, you could do something like use the doors end on both ends of the building because they would connect ZZZZZ. Then things like corner or T sections are more flexible too.

So much YES!

Good stuff!

I guess one easy thing that might be nice is a 90 degree turn for the warehouse, so there could be an interior courtyard. That way 13 feet of warehouse could be a little more useful.

Thanks Alex, 2 of the curves do make a 90 and the joints are mirrored so each road can mirror and flip and still line up well enough. So each section can be reused a few times without being exactly identical. I'll keep it in mind though. It took a couple tries to remember all the little tricks. Seems like maybe I should do some more roads before I forget it all once more.

Yeah, there is definitely plenty of depth to make it easy for people who want to grout the roads or do other treatments. Or break a leg:)

Diggin' the underdark pathways. Feel free to make a few more curvy versions - perhaps a hairpin style. Those are very cool! Someone needs to print the warehouse up to 13' long or something, then call it "Warehouse 13". Because... nerd. :D

Cool, some roads my PCs can twist their ankle on lol.
