Opened a Makerspace, + Classes from A Askue, AR Kickstarter, + Rotting Furniture

Sharing some personal news. Last Friday we had a ribbon cutting ceremony on a Makerspace I got to plan from scratch in a 30x100 foot room. The Makerspace is located in The Waterfield Library at Murray State University. It started 2 years ago, it should have taken much less time but covid has added time to everything.  I would mention that the space is vented for 2 laser cutters but I have held off on getting a second.

Online Courses and assets from Eric Askue

Eric Askue from Bad Tentacles Modeling/Worlds Over Run has begun doing some online demos on the steady and has included some DL assets as well. Help a fella out and subscribe to his youtube channel if you are interested in modeling or getting some brush assets. We've traded a lot of stuff back and forth over the years. Probably more than half the brushes we use on our digital models are Eric's designs.

Asgard Rising Kickstarter

Our Friends over at Asgard Rising are halfway through their first Kickstarter. They are offering a large set of super fancy mini-bases that are certainly worth checking out if you are looking for bases.

Rotting Furniture included Next Month

One of our polls from many months back indicated some interest in rotting furniture. We'll be doing some more of this. It turned out to be a fairly big challenge. The subtle warps and thickness variations offered a lot of issues to work though with structure and supports. It all took at least 2 restarts to get right. The cabinet is a 2 part so you can paint the inside. Thanks for looking.

Great job on that Makerspace!

GameNight

Thanks Scott. Yeah the Latex printer is my weak spot, It is big, hopefully it gets al lot of use without a lot of repairs.

Thanks Nicholas. I was not sure how to do it at first since in some conditions furniture could just sit around and never rot. Eventually I went for a combo of water and termite damage. I'll get some more done:)

I love the look of the rotten furniture. When I first suggested it in the comments I never thought it'd be as cool as this is

Love the furniture. It will be great for those 'abandoned' places (which let's face it...is alot of them).

Kristina B.

DungeonWorld

Amazing, good luck with the new space, it looks super cool.

Eamonn Ferguson

Very good news. Also, I'm looking forward to the rotting furniture.

Ramiro Carrasco Jr.

Glad to hear the makerspace wasnโ€™t equipped with the rotting furniture. Would have spoiled the atmosphere!

That Makerspace looks so awesome. There's a little bit of everything. That plotter though everyone's standing around in pic 14... that looks soooooo cool. I have a HP DesignJet T2500 and it gets the job done, but THAT thing... whew! What a beast.
