April Preview II, Last Call on Mega Kickstarter Combo Product.

More April Previews

Hi Folks, I've had some request recently to start mixing back in the slice-of-life scatter I was doing last year. This next month I'll be releasing medieval paper factory equipment and some vellum stuff. I still have at least to  4 more items to complete, including the drying racks and pulp tanks. The crown jewel of this set will be the hammer mills for pulp making. This water wheel driven giant slowly lifts and drops giant hammers that slowly break up cotton rags and other fibers for making pulp. It was a real pleasure to find something so totally alien and surreal that is actually a real thing.  Other things include the presses for pushing extra water out of the paper. On these presses, paper is placed between felts and absorb the extra water. We also have some mold and deckles on tables. I'll probably run some more tests this week and see if I can get away with a more complex screen on those. Finally there are a couple versions of retting tubs. These are use for both vellum and rag paper making.  Lye is mixed with animal skins or cotton rags and allowed to ferment. I'm far along on the resin testing with these as well. Unfortunately we have white resin right now which is not the best for pictures.

Kickstarter Combo Discounted! Then Discontinued April 1st.

I've reduced the price on this product for its last week of life. The Patreon coupon does not apply to it. Price is already cut. This is a mega set of our first 4 kickstarters, Stronghold on the Boarderlands (2017) through 2 Foot Tower (2019). Basically I am either retiring models or want to split them and sell them for more. Nothing wrong with the older models but some of this stuff tends to lean more toward true 28mm. These days I'm firmly in the 28mm heroic lane and have had some minor style changes. Most of it still works for me but it is time to turn the page on some things.  Nearly all of these kickstarters involve well documented but complex and potentially massive freeform designs. Despite the price reduction, they are not for the faint of heart or casual printer/supporter.

It all would work on resin printer. It is just not designed for it so it is not ideal. mainly I would design with fewer parts if it was for resin.

Why does the leg and plate not work on a resin printer? I’m still a noob in all of this.

Adam Marafioti

Bummer as they look like awesome terrain pieces.

Adam Marafioti

ah, okay, not many. some of the smaller buildings. Most of these kickstarters predate the resin invasion. On top of that , many of them use a the peg and plate inset system I started with, which means a lot of parts that doesn't make much sense on a resin printed. If you want to get into FDM, it is a great deal. For a small resin printer I have to advise you not to buy it.

Sorry @GameScape3D, just to be clear, I’m talking about the various STLs in your $199 mega pack. I just want to see how many of the pieces I’d be able to print on my printer before deciding whether or not to get it.

Adam Marafioti

Hey Adam Thanks for the question, took me a day to double check the numbers, the half shacks completely fit on your resin. I am providing spit halves of the larger bases that will also fit for those models. It isn't necessarily an ideal orientation but the prints make it out. I've been testing ona elegoo 3. The leaning cabin is a wild one, I will not be able to orientate that one for smaller printers. I think cutting the roof will be to sketchy for me to put my name behind it. folks can blaze their own trail. On the flip side I think the roofs will likely not be FDM printable without "Tree" style auto supports. The shacks, as a whole, are evolutionary for sure.

How big are the pieces in this? Are they printable on a resin printer? I've got a Mars 3 with a build volume of 5.64in(L) x 3.52in(W) x 6.89in(H) or 143mm(L) x 89.6mm(W) x 175mm(H)

Your scatter is so dang useful and fascinating. I love it! Thanks for all you do!

Don't feel bad I think I figured out I'm only possibly missing the 2x2 Tower....i think :)

Yep, STL Minis. Great place to get NPC craftsmen. And nope, you never duplicate! Your stuff is unique and goes wonderfully with other creations!

B. Griffith

Awesome, glad you like it. Sometimes I need a push to switch gears into that stuff. I have hard time moving between architecture and scatter after I get on one for a while. Anyways I have a ton of ideas for stuff now.

Thanks for the comment Kristina! I can't offer much help, I'm afraid I've cut up things different ways for different sites. My website backdoor is terrible for product creations so I tend to keep things tightly grouped on there.

Thanks for the comment, I'm guessing STL Miniatures book binder, yeah their stuff is cool:) I usually take a peak over there to make sure I'm not duplicating. I imagine you can do some mix and match there.

YES! This is magnificent, thank you SO much!!!

David Dickson

That is SO COOL! (the paper mill). One of my favorite mini sets I have from elsewhere is a book binder, and I love this sort of specialized craftsman equipment.

B. Griffith

I love this. And didn't realise I'm actually missing some of your stuff. I'm just having trouble figuring out what, between your site and MMF. Time to make a total list...
