Ver0.55 Update

This is Ver0.55.

It's a relatively short update overall, but we added a few scenes that are unrelated to the city path. We added a scene for when you try to escape Chieri's room through the door during the Exploration stage.


The quakes from Chieri's footsteps in the city scene are now more intense.


New features:

*You can freely swap between Chieri's school uniform and indoor clothes.

This might cause some bugs during some scenes, so please treat it as a "bonus feature" for the time being.


We originally intended to release the game on Steam either by the end of the year or by the start of next year, but we're fairly behind on our original schedule. What's more, starting from next year MJ will be busy with work, so our pace might be reduced to 1/4 of its current state (at worst). 

Aoigai was put in charge of the city scenes, but it proved to be challenging to manage while also being the modeller and animator. Seeing as he would be in charge of the majority of the scenes starting next year, there will have to be a change in our work system. We don't want to drag out our Patreon support for such a long time, so starting next year we'd also change the way we approach our Patreon page as well. 

We also still can't find the time to create the videos we promised. Sorry for everyone's who still waiting.

We are considering it, but right now our hands are full with the city scenes. Also, Makoto seeing Chieri directly kill somebody would be a very important scene story-wise so it's hard to find the right time to include it! So we're keeping it for later.

Sorry, it's hard to find earlier posts on Patreon. Anyway, we have no plans at the moment to make Makoto bigger than buildings.

Can we see some tiny city people get directly crushed? She can already demolish entire houses, so a tiny person should get squished realistically haha:)

To clarify what I was asking in an early post, what if she convinced the player to join her? Maybe she gives him a taste of the power and makes him as big as the Buildings (but nowhere near as big as her), just as an act of persuasion?

It is easier to develop one-on-one situations, and people on Patreon seem to agree. However, having a shrunken city (and by extension a giant girl destroying it) was one of our main motives for starting to make this game, so we can't let it go that easily. We'll look for another way to approach this problem.

Thank you very much. We're planning to keep making the city for a little bit more, then stop for a while to focus on another route while slowly creating the remaining parts. We have the general plot thought up so we'll still keep working on the city route bit by bit.

Hi Both, Excellent work out there. I appreciated that you've adjusted the earthquake volume caused by Chieri in the city scene. Take your time needed to create more storyline and features, i will be continue supporting the game.

I understand the difficulty of threading the needle since it seems you guys are at a crossroads trying to work on something intensive (the city) at the cost of it taking a lot of time and work but I really believe that the best part of the game is the intimacy between the one on one actions with Chieri. I don't really know how that would mess with your plans for the story and I don't pretend to but I think taking some time to consider what the game does best and continuing to work the game around that especially considering the workload it seems this city path is causing. I'll still support regardless but this is just my input.

Great update! I love the scenes like these where Chieri and Makoto talk and Chieri get's a chance to bully. Good development of characters! I agree with the idea everyone's saying about leaving the City behind as a later project or an easter egg. You could possibly have the city route be replaced by a route with a meaner Chieri, perhaps from Makoto being too stubborn about the situation. The other path being where she's a bit softer, still bullying him (obviously we're all here for the bullying giantess), but maybe more in a teasing/loving manner. Regardless, keep up the great work, don't worry too much about pace, and remember we're all here patiently rooting for you!

We'd like to have growth scenes, but at the moment it'd be even harder than creating the city scenes so it's not on our immediate list of priorities.

Thank you! We'll focus on other routes if the city route will interfere with the overall development of the game. But there are still things we want to do with it. If it ends up taking too long we'll simplify the city section and focus all our attention on just the events.

Like many people said, please do not put too much unnecessary pressure on both of you! Do not go too fast and do not hesitate to remove some exhausting parts (the city). Focusing on the scenes with Makoto and Chieri is also really good !

I saw someone else mention it, but I would really like to see growth scenes for Chieri as well. However, if it's too much work, then I'm fine with it not being a thing.

Still a pretty great update, despite the lack on content! If development will be dropping and the city portion is really taking so much out of you guys, than I advise dropping the other routes for now and finishing it as soon as possible! Like just have Chieri grow bored and destroy the city or shrink it down to minimum (1/1000) to "preserve it for later" (and it will never be used again).

As a programmer, what I can say is that "the best speed is to go well". So no use in trying to speed up, focus on keeping the project tidy and be sure to not let much technical debt pile up (it comes back to haunt you). Edit: (cause I pressed enter by accident) Great update! Even if the updates are short, they are great to see!

I am a little bit sad that development speed will be dropping, but I understand. You both have things that you need to do outside of making this game. You can't keep working on this 24/7 or else you won't have any time to focus on yourselves. i enjoyed both of the new storyline routes! I definitely agree with the other people saying that you should probably focus on the 1-on-1 scenes with Makoto and Chieri and work on the city scenes on the side so that your workload will be at least a little bit smaller. This was another great update! I hope that you can work things out!

First off I want to thank you all for your hard work and the outstanding game you are creating. Everything from textures to sound design, the writing itself is believable and engaging. You all have greatly captured an atmosphere/interaction that has been in my head for years and you do it so well! I want to keep supporting you and this project. I understand the toll the development of the city section can have on you all. Your own sanity and time is very important, even if the thought of the city section not making it saddens me. I will support whatever decision you make. The new scene you added in this update a great continuation, I love the interactions/scenarios you all create. I definitely support just updating the game with these kind of scenarios and continuing Chieri and Makoto's relationship while keeping the city development in the background. If it means less stress for you all I am all for it. Again thank you all for this incredible project, you've nailed every aspect of this interest. Could you work on a growth scene? Makoto is on normal size and Cheri growth step by step a little taller than him? Or they swap her size?

We considered that, but it's difficult since Fantia doesn't display the total number of patrons yet. We did request them to add a feature like that though... If we find a way to display the total number of supporters on our Fantia page we might do something similar to your suggestion.

There's still a lot we want to do with the shrinking part, but it's hard to find the time... And you're right, the animations for the NPCs takes a lot of effort. It's not something that we should focus so much attention on, and Chieri's animations are a lot more important, but we really wanted to have scenes where many people get tormented by her at once. We'll have to find an easier way to go about it... Thank you very much.

Finding people to help us might be the best solution. But it's pretty hard to find people who meet the right qualifications. When there's just two of us it makes it hard to estimate how long it'll take us to develop this game, and it's pretty worrying...

I really don't want to see this project dying due to feature creep which I've been worried is what is happening here with the City work. I really think you should consider working on the Chieri/Makoto relationship over these technically demanding city scenes

Yeah, I definitely concur. Instead of focusing solely on the city scene, or trying to slowly complete a mixture of the two, I'd just continue down the alternative path; it'll make for a much simpler development for the time being, allowing for much more to get done within the same timeframe, whilst you two battle other commitments, and struggle with the sheer size of the city. Also, I LOVE what you're implying for what's to come from that path. Probably the best I've ever got from this community.

Thank you very much for this!!! I have to agre with many of whay is said here, the new path makes me more exited!!! Heres a suggestion, the city part is proving to be way more challenging that what u thought it would be, so, instead of rushing to finish it, how about u guys exploit this new path of the story. Create more scenarios with just Chieri and Makoto, and u keep on working on the city part but without publishing it. This would give u guys time to polish the city part without feeling that u must complete it, since the main story between makoto and chieri would be still in play. I have to admit that those scenes between just the two Makoto and Chieri are AMAZING

A small update that leaves a big impact. The city scenario gets a little more of a foothold, the new route has me wanting more, and it’ll be interesting to replay the game with the ability to change her clothing. I hope all will work out in the future

Honestly I would be more than happy to continue supporting this game on patreon for years, getting update after update, until the game is huge. I believe enough people feel the same that we could pay for your living expenses... we're already at 3k/mo. I love your work and hope to see a LOT more of it.

One day Cheiri asked the tiny townsfolk to make a statue of her in the city. The tiny townsfolk were not sure what to do at first but after Cheiri showed them the first 'step' none of them asked anymore questions!

I was just wondering what the long term plans are for this before full release, like will long term patrons be able to get a copy of the game once it releases? Or will that come with a tier reward once the tiers are properly sorted?

The only alternative scene is all the way back when Makoto tries to escape. Instead of going to the charger, try to go to the bedroom door instead. Then the new scene will continue after that

Could anyone give some tips on how to trigger any of the new scenes? lol

Personally the new route after attempting escape was the star of the update for me, Chieri's such a wonderful bully. There still seems to be a lot you could do with the shrinking section. I'm worried that the city scene might burn you out, though. Not just the destruction but the main issue is the NPCs and all the animation involved, it would be very difficult for any dev team to make it work unless they have a much bigger budget and team size. For one person it seems impossible. It might be possible to make it easier by changing the scenes a little bit so that the other NPCs are far away, and having her mess with you directly, I dunno. Still eager to see what you have in mind! Thanks for the hard work!

This is just a suggestion but I've been thinking for a while now if you guys haven't got the manpower, maybe having a few other giantess creators help out might be an option? People like Manzi_SS, Gonzres, Pedro Sacramento etc etc? Maybe having a few others help contribute might make it a little bit easier? I know it's your creation in the first place though and you two are doing an amazing job and maybe if you added more people to the mix it might not be as focused with the goals and ideas you want to convey in mind but it's just an idea. As always, I'm more than fine with waiting it out for this game if it's just you two making it. Adds to the excitement :) Good things take time <3 Either way, I'm still so glad this is being made in the first place. You guys didn't have to do this, but you did so thank you <3 <3 <3
