Up Front Payments (Patreon Update)

Recently Patreon rolled out a new feature, the ability to charge new Patrons before they recieve access to exclusive Patreon content.
Previously the system would allow you to pledge and recieve all your rewards before being charged at the end of the month. Luckily 99% of Patrons are very lovely and don't choose to abuse the system.
The real issue are automated bots. These scripts sign up to a Patreon and skim as much free content as they can, usually posting the content they get on another website.
Up front payment would block these bots from gaining access though obviously if somebody really wanted to continue they could get all my stuff for a mere $3 a month anyway XD
I hesitated turning on the option as it seemed like a very mercenary move to me, like a game company with overly restrictive DRM to prevent piracy. I really prefer people to CHOOSE to support me rather than being forced to.
I realize that Patrons, however, might feel slighted at paying for something that other people simply steal. This is why I wanted to get your opinions on the issue before deciding what path to take.
Let me know what you guys think about the change. Once you change over to Up Front Payment it becomes permanant so please take that into account.

It's really weird that they make it permanent. It seems like it should be a thing you can turn off month to month? But I have absolutely no preference either way, go with what works for you!

2016-06-15 19:13:45 +0000 UTCI'd much rather everyone had upfront. It ticks me off when people cheat the system. And by system I mean artists who are putting their all into trying to make a living. So, yeah. No complaints here!
