The New Mexico Whiptail is a female-only lizard that reproduces by producing an egg through parthenogenesis. They engage in mating behavior with other females, giving rise to the nickname "lesbian lizards".

Seldom Seen Species Sunday is art challenge/project where on Sundays I'll post artwork featuring an animal that is rarely or never seen in media with a little bit of info taken from the web. This includes prehistoric creatures, extinct creatures and even commonly seen creatures with uncommonly seen color mutations.
