Guidelines
All game suggestions are welcome! That said, there are some factors which might make a game less likely to be picked for the final vote, such as...
the game is super long
the game contains a lot of uncomfortable subject matter
the game contains copyrighted music which might get videos muted or blocked
Dan really doesn't like the game :P

There is licensed music, but I think you can avoid it and there may be streaming modes in the remake. Plus the original songs should be fine.

2025-03-22 19:09:38 +0000 UTCEspecially with the AstroBots, I put in for Soul Reaver. SR 1 then 2 then Defiance is a doable trilogy (if interest takes hold). Blood Omen 1 and 2 aren't as necessary to Amy Hennig's plot. (Kain AstroBot is his design from Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain 1)

2025-03-22 13:58:36 +0000 UTCTossing one in for Omno, an exploration platformer with the most beautiful low-poly environments in anything I've played, fantastic creature designs, and a big chunk of Journey in its DNA. It also has some great-feeling traversal tech that makes it just a pleasure to play. Although with how short it is (4-5 hours on average), it might be better to tuck away as a rec for when something's needed for a filler week.

While I agree the remake is watered down (mostly due to the movie tie-in), it's a far better representation of where the franchise stands in terms of: characterization (Ratchet was a bit of a prick in the OG), tone, and gameplay (QoL is night and day for me) But I would also be happy with the OG

Beautiful little Metroid/Dark Souls-vania with some really interesting NPC mechanics that create some utterly unique gameplay pressures and strong themes. It's a game I still don't quite know how to express my feelings on, so I'd love to see your take on it. Plus, it rewards souls-like twitchy play and exploration!

I'm happy you've already looked into it, so I'll leave it off the table this time. (It's still absolutely worth pursuing, but I can understand that slow burn stories that get amazingly good half way through may not be good for the view count). So, instead, a more recent favourite, Sea of Stars. Or maybe do Messenger first. But both are very worth doing.

It's a super cute 10-15 hour metroidvania that IIRC is going to be good for viewers of all ages with some lovely diverse characters and a good story too. I kind of want to see Dan play Metal Gear Solid 1, but I think that game is "uncomfortable subject matter" from start to finish.

It's perfect Bolmes and Botson detectiving, only it's not as much a detective game as it is just a really intriguing slice of history and thoughtful considered narrative with a Name of the Rose mystery on top of it There's nothing like it Dan!

When you play it yourself, a map taking an hour+ is no big deal, but I'm not sure it's interesting to watch if you can have no input (AKA, it might be more stream-friendly). I haven't played Three Hopes, but I did play Hyrule Warriors though and I feel the gameplay might get too repetitive. Don't get me wrong though, I love those games and if it wasn't a possible format issue, I'd love to have Dan play them.
