2024-02-29 00:27:34 +0000 UTCWhile i cant speak for what may or may not inhabit that body of water, i can say hyenas do actually make a habit of storing their kills in water when theyre not eating them! Even the muddiest of puddles will do. While gross waterlogged meat doesnt sound great, and fouls the water a bit, it does have benefits. Flies cant touch it, decomposition is slowed because most of that bacteria needs air, and on top of not being visible to others, it helps reduce the smell over long distances.
