Because oh boy the English versions are tame compared to the Russian versions. The Russian versions are (how to put this gently) a lot more detailed than the English counterpart...

My favorite fairy tale/fable is no good for this, but it is "old favors are soon forgotten" about a peasant and a wolf who wants to eat him. He traipses around looking for people to prove to the wolf that people are nice and repay favors, but cannot find any.
