Behind The Scenes October - How do I use Improv?
Added 2020-10-22 12:00:03 +0000 UTCSo, being a shy person I find that using Improv during audios can be hard but also fun! Improv is like where you make up the script as you go along with a piece it can be audios or performances. This can be useful when I've written an audio but its not quite the right length script wise, so I use improv to extend the length of the audio on the spot. Improv is also used in the moments when I'm reading from a script as well, like sometimes I add bits in or go off on my own tangent.
I find that using it can help to give a more meaningful touch to an audio, and make it feel much alive more in that moment than just soley reading off a script. It can also help when I realize that there's a mistake with someones script they haven't pointed out to me and I need to change the sentence on the spot as I'm going along.
As I use it more I find its coming more naturally to me, and it's super fun! It reminds me a bit of when you were a kid and you'd play 'House' and you would play the role of a member of a family! Saying that though I always ended up as the mum in this case hahaha.

I think improv can be good when the mood of the script isn't right or there's grammar errors. I also think it's great when you can use your imagination to make a script more realistic.
