Cassiopeia Quinn Rough Sketches

I did a guest comic page for Cassiopeia Quinn not too long ago. It isn't very complex page, but I did have to draw a few characters I've never drawn before: Captain Rosalba, Lieutenant Russ, and Admiral Toyn. I didn't want to just draw them in my style and risk same-facing them, so I spent a bit of time trying to understand their character roughly.

It was important to get the slopes of and exaggerated features of their figures down. If I couldn't do the characters justice with my own skill as an artist, I could at least try to capture an element of their essence so they were believable as who they were supposed to be - and if you can accomplish making a character look how they're supposed to within gesture sketches, you've probably done a good job.

I've found myself growing bored with some of what I've been drawing lately, and I worry that others might be also. I want to draw stuff that excites and challenges me, and it might take a bit of time to come up with whatever that may be.

I should also be more active with advertising my patreon and art so I can get more support. I don't really like to impose upon people, but I had 17 false patrons last month (well over $100 worth) confirmed as fraud - probably bots or something... But that sucks quite a bit. So I'm thinking of doing another pass at prettying up Patreon now that I've had it for a few months, and finding ways to make supporting me more worth your time and your money.

I've finally made the move over to Discord, and I know Patreon's got support for it, so I've thought of utilizing it. Though, I'm not entirely convinced; I don't even know what I'd use discord for as far as Patreon is concerned - plus I'm not very social altogether, so I'm a bit apprehensive about the idea anyway.
