Robot Grill Sketch
Added 2017-10-15 00:17:17 +0000 UTCI did the sketch on the right in a stream as an update of a character idea (the original sketch on the left). There are some things I like, but some things I don't. For a while, I've wanted to give her blue hair, but now she looks very icy and cold - which is not a direction I wanted to go with. I also think making the hair more flat wasn't a decision I'm happy with. I think giving her blue hair might be a stronger design choice if I kept her mostly black, as opposed to grey - the grey kinda washes away the impact of the blue.
I removed her eyebrows too to make her seem less emotive, but not a fan of that either. Contributes to the cold feeling. Maybe if I kept her eyes wide open, it'd work better.

We'll see the next time I try drawing her. I don't think it looks bad - just not sure I like the general idea.

2017-10-15 01:50:28 +0000 UTCI think she looks serious without looking depressingly cold. I do think adding more black to her suit/body would help though, as well as opening her eyes a bit, but otherwise I think she looks fine. But that's just my two cents ^^'
