As my previous post mentioned, I had difficult drawing today. I feel like I'm at a plateau; I'm standing still, rather than continuing to improve. A shame, really.

I'd like to spend some time doing studies and brushing up on my basics again, as well as just trying new things in general. Hoping to find a way to structure my Patreon in a way that makes that easier. I keep saying "oh more on that in a few days," but I've yet to start the posts for it to arrange my thoughts.

I gotta get on that...

This is actually something I'm considering. I'm generally apprehensive about obligating myself to do stuff other people want me to do, so I've been giving it some thought to how I'd make it work with Patreon. That post to arrange my thoughts that I mentioned was going to include stuff like Requests (Suggestions), Polls, Themes, etc.

Maybe you should do some polls so that you’re able to find new subjects or new ways to draw new or old characters to challenge yourself, or just explore if that makes any sense. From what I’ve heard, using your audience is a great way to find ways or solutions that you alone may not be able to alone. Or maybe just run through the basics like you said, I don’t know I’m not an artist. Whenever I’m stuck on any sort of creative project, I look to others for guidance or unthrough the basics like you said, but don’t seem like you have to be rushed to do so! Hope that helps!

I feel you wholeheartedly on feeling like your standing still. I used to call it "Art Limbo" but now I call it "State of Stillness" because it sounds more dramatic and cool. Ive been there for years and am just now feeling like I might make a way out. Even if its temporary, its better than nothing. Keep your chin up Brell, you'll make it through. Just never forget ~ Art is a marathon, not a race. We all progress at our own pace. 👍
