My Thoughts: Onto the Next Year!
Added 2017-12-30 06:09:07 +0000 UTCFirst and foremost, I want to thank all of you for your support during this year - and those of you who have just recently jumped aboard too. It is because of your support that I'm able to do what I do. Thank you!
As we enter my second year on Patreon, it's a good time to reflect on my performance and plan for the new year. In one of my previous posts (HERE), I expressed some ideas I'd like to try on Patreon, and while the general reception has been good, if you have not yet read it, please do so, as this update relates to that one.
When thinking about the future, a good place to start with is...
What do I want?
I want to be a creator and make things that I'm passionate about. I want to devote more time to creating. I want to finish projects; creations with depth -- things that are more than "just a sketch on a white background." I want to make comics and games. I want to make Patreon a more enjoyable experience for everyone; for myself and every single Patron of mine.
With that in mind, I've got some goals to achieve -- all goals to actively work towards with concrete steps, as opposed to abstract goals (like "I want to be a better artist").
So how are we going to do this?
Creating content that I'm passionate about may be the simplest goal; by creating what makes me happiest to create. Whether that's a Bodyslide Dress-Up Game or a Female Link webcomic, I want to create what I enjoy as often as I possibly can, so that I can throw myself into creating instead of constantly dreading the stresses of creative responsibility.
Devoting more time to artwork can be scary because the workload becomes more imposing and provides less instant gratification. This fact is one of the reasons why I've gravitated towards simple & fast sketches. Now, however, I want to slow down a bit... and spend more time creating particular creations, like comics, landscape paintings, or even just far more dynamic sketches & studies. Perhaps even dabbling into new *ways* of creating, like game design. I mean, who else is going to make Triangle Hunter - The Game - with Pink-haired Hero? That'd be cool, right?
Giving Back More
As I've already expressed, your support means so much to me... So I'd like to give additional value to every single supporter's pledge, providing them with something more than I previously have been. My ideas from the earlier post, such as the Patron Suggestions and Bodyslide Girl polls, are certainly directions I'd like to move towards in the coming year - as they're pretty good ways of giving back more to you.
NSFW Variants
In addition to the NSFW potential in the previously mentioned ideas, another means of adding value to my content is with NSFW (Not Safe for Work) variants of my otherwise SFW art -- like over-painting a pair of nude breasts onto a character that didn't already contain nudity, for example. I think doing these variants more frequently will provide an additional element of "cool" to supporting me. It's just a matter of finding a workflow that easily benefits it, and it's something I'll try for.
---
All of this, when simply put, is just to say that I'm planning to be awesomer. This is my fourth attempt at this post, with each previous draft being significantly more wordy than the next, so I've cut a lot of the stuff that didn't matter and have stuck simply to telling you my general creative plans for the new year. I hope that both you and I have a lot of fun together on Patreon from here on out.
I'm going to try to take it a bit easy to recover from my work on Snow Daze and prepare to getting back into being awesome soon.
So, because I want my Patreon to be just as much about you as it is me, I ask: What do YOU want?

I love the ideas you’ve brought out so far, and they seem fantastic! You should make art your content with, and not force yourself, unless it’s a goal you’ve made and wanted to stick to! Other than that, I’m glad to be a supporter, and want to see some more of your fantastic stuff!
2017-12-31 01:07:07 +0000 UTCI've already made my thoughts on the direction you're taking this Patreon known in that previous thread. I like them, and I like what you state here in how you plan on tackling this. Setting realistic goals for yourself, slowing down, and pacing yourself properly. With so many ideas you want to get out there, it's very easy to get overwhelmed, lost, and lose motivation in the art grind. It's something I'm still working on myself with my art journey. Instant gratification is also another dynamic that can come off as a crutch and is easy to fall into. And that applies to a lot in life, not just being a creator. So a lot of what you said made sense here. Being a creator is a life time venture when you're dedicated, IMHO. "The art journey is a marathon, not a race". I wish you the best, and I'm here to support. As for what do I want? I want more Brellomascot in business attire, or Bimbrells, or Bodyslider, etc. I'm just sayian. Nightgowns work too. Oh, and for you to succeed in your endeavors, of course. That too, hah. Onto the next year ~ Stay solid and godspeed. PSS: More Amaranth too.
