Film Review - UPPITY: The Willy T. Ribbs Story

With our regular show covering Drive To Survive, we delve a little deeper into sports car documentaries to cover the recently released biopic of Willy T. Ribbs.

Often referred to as the Jackie Robinson of auto racing, Ribbs' career shines a light on the uphill battle African American's must endure to break into predominantly white sports. The challenges he faced as a confident, no-nonsense black man. His flirtations with Formula One, and his ultimate goal of being the first African American to race the Indy 500.

I had no idea about Willy T Ribbs before watching this, and enjoyed Uppity for the most part. Thank you for putting a finger on what I didn't like about it. PS. Not sure if you meant to edit out the disconnect that happened 8 minutes in?
