Patrons!

This year is gonna be weird.

Not only have half the pack swapped seats, but we also get exciting rookies, new teams (well, names), returning tracks and the possibility of a 23 race season. After the year we all just had, you could say we've earned in.

Of course Shift+F1 will be with you through all of it - we proved that last year with our oddest season yet. And you proved that you still care about our work with your incredible support here on Patreon. So this year we're taking what worked and supercharging it.

So what's changing this year on the Shift+F1 Patreon?

----------------------------------------------------------------

While our film review podcasts have been fun, that well is starting to dry. So we're adding new ideas to our patron exclusive podcasts including reviews of classic races, reviews of other motorsports and more. While our Media Pass is going to produce more types of exclusive videos like video updates and Q&As

This was one of the biggest requests we had in the off-season. You can now sign up to our Patreon with one annual pledge instead of monthly pledges. You'll also get 8% off which is equivalent to the ever shortening off-season.

Some of  you already donate above the highest tier so in perfect F1 form we've added a tier for the insanely wealthy. If you pledge at the frankly ridiculous Title Sponsor level, we'll give you a shout-out in each episode of Shift+F1.

----------------------------------------------------------------

We hope you're as excited as we are for a new season of F1. This Patreon ensures that we can dedicate proper time to making sure the podcast is researched and produced to a high level, so on behalf of the three of us - and the tens of thousands of people who tune in - thank you for your incredible support.

Nnyyyyooooooom!

You guys have made the last few seasons so enjoyable and prove there ARE other speedy race car fans (that turn both directions) in America! Been an F1 fan since 2005 and listened to you gents at least the last three or more years - what is time now anyway? - honored to support you at the Strollian level.

About that hammer used to measure the life of a tire. It sounds like one used used to do impact testing (modal analysis). That along with a few accelerometers is used to assess how stiff a part is (tire, roof, hood, suspension component, etc.). In addition to using that check to gage how much life is left in a tire (guessing lower stiffness = less life) teams might be using that data to validate their FEA/CFD models.

Did anyone else's sub auto renew as yearly? I was going to switch to it next month, but I got an email telling me that it had already?

Tofla

Woohoo! Made my day seeing the pre season primer download to my phone!

More like GROANjean! Am I right?

Giovanni Facco

Great you’re back!! BTW Grojean’s comment about his crash on “Drive to survive” series three trailer is amazing. His wife’s reaction is brilliant. Grojean being Grojean.

Classic race reviews sound fun, as someone who's only been following F1 the past few years. If you guys are running out of racing movies to review, I would heartily recommend Speed Racer (2008). It's a bold movie in so many aspects, which means there's a lot to talk about. Aesthetically, it might be the most adventurous in the past 20 years, and although the racecraft is over-the-top absurd (in a delightful way,) the story is relevant to F1 in that it examines racing as art, racing as sport, and racing as industry. It was mostly ignored when it came out, but has been getting a critical reevaluation recently. So yeah, I would love a podcast on it, but even if that doesn't happen, I'm excited for a new season of Shift-F1!

Super happy about the annual memberships option! With this and my F1TV subscription, I can pay for a year of F1 content all at once and not have to think about it. Really looking forward to following the season with you like always

Fantastic news, you guys! I was slightly worried that you might run out of additional things to talk about, but as someone who started watching F1 in 2014 (thanks to you) I have plenty of classic races I'd love to watch "with" you. Keep up the great work!

It's live right now. Just look for an aging Stroll! (go to your membership settings if it's not appearing on the main page for you - it may not because you're already a patron)

Shift+f1

Hahaha its all good guys, when are you guys expecting to have the new tier up and running?

Humberto Roca

Thanks so much Humberto! We're excited to get back into the race seat. Kick this thing into gear. Put the pedal to the metal. Sorry, been a while since we could use racing idioms.

Shift+f1

Great to hear boys!
