POLL: Pick our next Podcast Movie!

Happy New Year Patrons!

We hope you all enjoyed the holiday season, albeit how anyone enjoys months of no racing is beyond me! I for one was excited to meet up with a bunch of the patrons at the 24 Hours of Lemons at my local track; Sonoma Raceway.

Look at this handsome bunch!

It was especially nice as these were the last people I saw for 2 weeks as I was finally struck down by the covid monster and had to live in my studio. This after I had driven a 1600 mile round trip to Seattle and back right after the race - but that's a whole other story.

Today we're here to do a democracy. While the season is over we take a little break but the patron episodes keep coming. You know this better than me as I was missing from the last patron pod (see: covid).

That said one of the toughest things about the patron pods is picking the focus so this month we're getting you to do it. The poll closes on Sunday morning, so you have a few days to click on your favorite.

VOTE NOW!

Thanks so much for supporting us last year. We're excited for another year of F1 nonsense starting next month with our pre-season updates and primer.

The anime movie Redline and Jackie Chan's Thunderbolt would be great movies to do also.

Have you seen a movie called “The Fast and the Dead” - if not it’s brilliant and streaming for free. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0071942/

The original Death Race 2000 starring David Carradine could be worth a look if you're on that sort of kick.

Borning 3: Asphalt Burning, it wasn't a masterpiece however it was hilarious.

Larry Kemple

What about the Mad Max films. The original and Fury Road

(If you want to get REALLY wild, "It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World")

In the light of Ken Block's recent passing, The Gymkhana Files might be a nice one to watch in the next month or so, it's documentary series behind the making of all his mad videos on Amazon Prime. Also if you want to get wild, Baby Driver, Italian Job (original or remake), Transporter 1/2, Death Proof, Mad Max (any of them) or Taxi (1998)

Even though I know FnF is going to win, I have to throw my hat in for Logan Lucky. I guess it’s only really tangentially related to racing as it takes place at Charlotte, but it’s such a great little Soderbergh heist caper with such a big warm heart and an amazing cast that I will never not sing its praises to anyone who’ll listen.

Marcel Turenne

Oh, not really familiar with any of these. Like have they done Smokey and the Bandit yet? Or to go in the opposite direction, Titane? Crash (haven’t seen that one to be suggesting it though) Taladega Nights? Herbie? Rat Race is listed as a Automobile Comedy movie?

Is there a runoff poll if the leader is unable to obtain 50% of the vote? Half-kidding.

Michael Berglund
