test discord test

I've been thinking about setting up a Discord server recently. I'm not certain if I'm going to commit, as it's a responsibility, and therefore, a slightly scary idea. However, I thought I'd inform you anyway just in case that's something you might actually really like. Though I'm not sure just how many conversations I'd be leading, and a great number of you are likely pretty busy in other servers. I, myself, am already in a few that I'm barely active in...

In my Future Ideas for Patreon post at the end of the previous year, I expressed wanting to promote further engagement between you and I, in addition to bringing you closer to my creative process. It might be possible to treat Discord as an extension of the Patreon experience.

The works-in-progress & development channels could be used to share ideas & tiny amounts of progress without cluttering Patreon's dashboard.

With those channels, I can easily share content that may not warrant an entire post just for them, which is nice for lengthy projects that require a lot of back & forth problem-solving. Additionally, they're optimal locations to discuss things that you and I work on together; or if you're just curious about my story ideas, something new I might be trying out, etc.

I dunno. It's late. I'm always trying to do my best to give you all the best experience I possibly can. This kind of thing would be as much about you as it is about me, if not more about you; so what are your thoughts?

I think it's a good idea but the management and organization of an artist discord is pretty heavy dude, I know because I'm in a bunch, there are some that just don't really do anything like Late Nights server, those that have closed communities because only a few people were active (sinner, sorenova and zepherus as examples) those that are so crowded, it's hard to do anything like shadmans discord and then those that are active but with no new people joining basically making it a closed community of friends with also some fans occasionally (omegablack and dieformonarchy are good examples there) It's hard work keeping track of it, but I don't quite know what you'll fit into, while it would be cool to meet new people and talk in another community, servers do have a life span and break off from eachother creating smaller groups of close friends. It's also about how you manage it, you personally have to be there somewhat frequently to keep people interested in staying, which itself can be a burden. Discord is hard work but do you think you'll be able to handle it? If not you can always just try a test run and close it if it's too much.

YES!

I'm down for it. Managing a discord server is a responsibility, but it's not that bad depending on the size. It ultimately depends on how big you want this to get, but I'd assume you wouldn't want it getting huge. And even then, you can have mods if need be. I'm not on many servers myself, and the ones I'm really active in are the ones I have with people I know/have met offline generally. I'd join, lurk and post some of my doodles there as well. I'm really not a part of many art focused servers now that I think about it. Just make sure to have some clear cut set of rules and the like to start off. Everything doesn't have to be super figured out from jump. It can grow and develop as time goes on. Live and learn. PS: To add what Ed mentioned. Most servers I'm on, the actual creator is probably one of the least active individuals in comparison to the other members. So if you're worried about running a server while having to constantly entertain the members, don't be. It's just a place to chill and chat for the most part.

It's a good idea. I'm in a few discords where the person who actually made it isn't the most active but it's good to chat with other people and share ideas, works in progress. You can always just poke through it every so often.

Hinagiku Art

the channel says OUR art posts.

A discord could be nice, though I myself don't tend to be super active in many of them. Would still join and lurk, maybe share my own doodles from time to time if there's a channel for stuff besides your works.
