Halloween 2018: Give in to Temptation...

Elayne Beaumont after having been converted into the Vampire Queen's vampiric servant. A good bad end.

This piece was pretty tiring to work on; I spent longer than I usually do on my work for this. Glad it came out looking nice enough. This whole "I wanna post a Halloween illustration a day" thing is pretty hard work, especially since a lot if it isn't done ahead of time. I'll have to keep that in mind should I attempt something like this again.

Elayne's tights did not originally have bat markings on it, but it helps to break the monotony of the values up, so it's a smart idea to include. If you have access to the Dropbox Archive, you can see the original concept for Elayne's vampire outfit in September's folder. You can also see the original sketch for this piece in this month's folder -- and it's quality was nowhere near this; that's why you shouldn't always commit to your very first sketch.

I seldom draw the Vampire Queen, so there's a lot about capturing her portrayal that's not quite finalized yet, but she looks pretty cool here.
