There are some messy bits here and there, but everything that's important to communicate has been communicated so that's alright. As long as your painting is communicating the idea and image you want to convey, then you don't need everything super finely rendered.
Which is good because I'm not a painter and lack the skills to make a masterpiece.
It's not necessarily a 1:1 accurate portrayal of the style, but there was a strong inspiration from Ayami Kojima (who painted those famous Castlevania illustrations you've probably seen) in this piece. It feels like I've got an unnatural mix of soft blending & rough paint strokes within the figure, so I'll probably endeavor to work on that should I do it again. I'm content with the rough strokes of the area surrounding the ribs & serratus anterior, but the legs are are a bit too blurry for my tastes. They are going into shadow and we don't want a lot of attention on them, so it might be fine -- but all the same.
Don't forget to eat & sleep.
... before the vampire killer finds you. and kills you because only vampires stay up late.
