[Patron-Only Feed] Gotta start goin' hardcore soon.

Sketched a quick Tokusatsu-looking character real quickly because I was thinking about Satellite 09's Signal Bee. I love her art, so you should look at it more often.
Still waiting for my new SSD to arrive from the last post, but I figured I'd provide you with an actual, legitimate Patron-Only Feed update.
For those who did not read last post:
My HDD died. I need to wait for the new drive to get here. Then I need to install all of my programs onto the new hardware. I can't really do much until that happens.
More time, more monies...
I'm going to be sending $400 of my monthly income to my family to cover some debts & provide food. That value may shift once debts are covered, but for the time being, that's a fairly large portion of my income via Patreon. It doesn't leave me much else to hold onto, so I'll be less efficient at saving money than I was previously.
Not the funnest thing in the world, but it happens.
That's a pretty convincing reason to start making adjustments to my "business." I need to generate more income, and the stakes are a tiny bit higher than they were previously. Fortunately, we've been discussing some ideas that could result in further income, but they've always had a general sense of uncertainty. Guess we can't find out until we try, though...
More streams; casual live streams throughout the week. Wednesday streams are still intended to be used FOR commissions, but it might be worth taking on an additional commission or two every other stream during the week. I don't know how truly reliable commissions will be as a consistent source of income, however, nor do I necessarily always enjoy them...
I'll have to make supporting me on Patreon feel more appealing as well. We previously discussed higher-quality illustrations & comics, though that is where the uncertainty comes. They are a lot of work, and I know not everyone here wanted that direction for the Patreon... I'll have to play that by ear, perhaps sooner than initially intended.
Seeing as this is a drastic increase in responsibility, I have to make certain that I do not overwork or push myself towards sickness. I need to pace myself effectively because I can't afford any sort of serious debilitation; I can not kill myself over my work.
10,000 Minutes...
I recently watched a video by Jake Parker (creator of inktober), and in it, in response to the "10,000 Hours Rule," he expresses how daunting such an endeavor would seem. As opposed to trying to master a bunch of different micro-skills simultaneously, he instead suggests studying them one at a time (line width, tone, etc)... Which seems reasonable.
In the past, Jake Parker put out a video encouraging the idea of "Finished, not Perfect," which was a work philosophy I applied to my art after hearing it. Might take something from this too.
In the video, Parker suggest that we're living in a hyper-performance society, where everyone's comparing themselves to the best versions of each other, and the status of just good or above average is getting neglected for the stressful notion of mastery... Which is an idea I can get behind. Parker strongly believes in having a balanced life, rather than devoting their life to just one thing. I'm rushing through this; you should just watch his video...
Rather than trying to be a master, Parker suggests simply trying to be 1% better than you were yesterday, and to let mastery happen on it's own. That's a simple, reachable goal... Compared to 10,000 hours or even 10,000 minutes.
Games & Stuffs...
Since losing access to my primary computer, I've been spending a bit of time playing on the Switch. I just purchased Xenoblade Chronicles 2 as an impulse buy because of Pyra. It looks like this will just have to do while I'm missing out on the Monster Hunter World Kulve Taroth event. I'll probably be ready to jump back on by Nov 30th for the Winter Festival though.
Been playing a bit of BotW too. Good times.
Time seems to pass much slower when I don't have a computer. It's kinda nice when time passes by slow though, even if it's boring and lonely.
Our boiler stopped working, so we need to get a new one soon so it can be significantly less cold. We've got heaters, but none of them are in my room. Because I'm hardcore. I'll have to go to the bank to get some papers notarized before that though. Boo, going outside!
Also, I absolutely love Patreon's new GUI for posting. It's more efficient & clean. This might not seem like a big deal, but accessing all of the sidebar options used to be less accessible; AND they were below the text field. They were behind buttons & drop-down menus, but now they're all just RIGHT THERE. Easily in view.
