[Patron-Only Feed] Based on your Feedback 01

I haven’t received a lot of feedback as of yet, but it seems like the vast majority of you are very happy with the Patreon experience as it currently is, and what few people that do have mixed feelings don’t yet know how to articulate their thoughts or simply don’t intend to express them. But I welcome any feedback you have. Here’s the post if you feel like expressing them.

Also don’t forget to view the Dropbox Archive if you’re pledging at least $7. I update it throughout the month. You can find the most recent link from the Featured Tags.

BLUF (Bottom Line Up Front):

As good as my communication is, it can always be better, and I will try to improve it. It might also be worth honing my focus to highlight specific kinds of content so you can more reliably expect what I will produce – and I hope to improve the quality of what I do create.

Greater Communication

Given how vital transparency is to this Patreon, the idea of communicating better is an important one to me. As of right now, my Patreon feels a little aimless – a shot in the dark as to what kinds of subject matter to expect in the month to come.

The Concept Art & Discussion threads seem to be a patron favourite, but they’re published so late in the month and you have no idea what it’s content will entail. This is, in part, due to me also not knowing what it will be about until halfway through the month.

Having a firmer idea of what to expect earlier in the month, or perhaps even before the end of the previous month, may help you better determine whether or not you wish to allocate your monthly funds towards my Patreon or another creator’s. Though doing so might prove difficult, as I do not always know what I want to do ahead of time, I will try to, all the same.

I typically try to take the last few days of the month off, but perhaps I’ll think about what kinds of content that I want to produce in the following month and share that in a Patron-Only Feed?

Greater Focus

When this year started, I expressed wanting to make more meaningful art, so that may be one of the next steps we take. I should determine what exactly it is that I want to create, so I can dedicate myself to those things. Perhaps narrowing my focus and building towards an overarching goal.

By narrowing my focus and highlighting one or two kinds of content, you can pledge to me with a lot more confidence, because you’ll have clearer expectations for what will be created.

That focus could be on more dedicated illustrations and comics, like Female Link stories.

High-Effort Content

With a greater, or perhaps even narrow focus, I should also consider making stronger content than what I’m currently making. As serviceable as my current work has been, it is possible that I haven’t been putting enough time & energy into it. It may be worth trying to make more impressive work.

Illustrations that can offer a stronger connection – comics, illustrations with more thought put into them, and more ambitious pornographic artwork. Art that matter just a bit more to both you & I.

Whether they’re rendered paintings, watercolour sketches, or other kinds of content.

The general idea being that I should step out of my comfort zone more often and push the extent of my work even further. I feel like my work has been a bit aimless and hard to connect with as a viewer, and I’d like my work to have a more profound effect. This path may result in content that is slower to produce, but we’ve been slowly moving towards favoring quality over quantity here, and I’ve shown a general commitment to my work responsibilities even if I don’t post every single day like I used to.

I hope to see a transformation in the Patreon experience (and my work) in the coming months.

Dreams

I enjoyed creating my recent “artwork” in Dreams earlier this month; the one that related to Link’s Awakening. I find it unlikely that most people will care about further work of this kind, especially if that work is a game, since Dreams may not be accessible to everyone. Plus, its artwork isn’t likely to be very sexy.

But I think it might be a fun medium to continue creating with. Perhaps I could even integrate it with my illustration work by designing part of it in 3D ahead of time? It’s sort of like mixed-media, I suppose. Something to think about, for sure.

Anyway, just some of the thoughts that I’ve been having recently. As previously said, communication is important to me, and so is your feedback.

Don’t forget to eat & sleep.

Comments

That's okay. All feedback is important, but as long as you're enjoying my work and the Patron-Only Feed, that's good.

Well, I think that is very thoughtful. I don't have much feedback as a low end backer that just swung by to appreciate what you've been sharing over the years, but I think you are soundly thinking of the future.
