[Concept] The Young Countess
Added 2021-05-10 14:09:19 +0000 UTCJust a bit of quick concept art; something that I’ve been meaning to visually explore for a while now. This isn’t of immediate critical importance, but it helps to build the world and I’m going to take a long time to fine-tune these concepts anyway – so starting sooner than later is ideal.
This apparel is unlike the usual outfits I draw, so I’ll need to research historical fashion a bit more and develop a visual library to communicate the aesthetic I’m looking for with this design. Research is vital to understanding your subject, so you can convincingly create stuff.
I find myself gravitating towards the white/brown clothing most here. It reads very neutral and brings a lot of attention to her red hair.

That's colour relativity in action. The hair is the same colour, but appears different because of its relationship to the colour around it. All colours work this way, and it's how you can make certain colours stand out from one another.
