Early Access Video - Mice, Rats, Mice, Beavers, Mice, Squirrels, and More Mice!

Hi Patrons, Jason here!

1.   Thank you so much for supporting Clint's Reptiles. You guys are amazing.

2.   As you have early access to these videos, please let us know if you catch any mistakes or export issues. They are bound to happen, and I would love to catch them before they get published for the unforgiving world to spot. You are our first line of defense!

3.   Sometimes we need to schedule the release of a video. When that happens, YouTube forces us to change the video status Unlisted to Private. Unfortunately, that cuts off your access. We try to delay this until Friday night (Mountain time zone), so be sure to utilize your early access before then.

4.   I try to get these Early Access Videos uploaded as early as Monday every week. Trying to maximize the early in Early Access Videos :). That doesn't always happen, but that is my goal.

5.   Comments in Patreon = I will see. Comments in YouTube = Clint will very likely see (and sometimes me too).

6.   You guys rock!

11:43 minutes in here… is anyone taking notes?! *raises hand * Are muskrats the same as Nutria? We have what we call water rats aka Nutria.. Where do these fall? … ok finished the video now.. still have no idea where Nutria fall. What about ASF’s? Are those spiny…mice? *cries*

I should have taken my stimulant before I started this video 🤣 omg Monty Python and the pivot scene from friends… I can’t even pay attention. “Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries.” Now I’m wondering: Would it have been more accurate to state “You’re mother was a mouse,” since they are more prolific at reproducing with different mates?? 🤔 the patreons need to know! Ugh now I have to restart this video.

Hey, how about capybaras as pets for a video? 🥰

What about the Giant Rat of Sumatra? Where does it fit, Watson?

May be a fun (2 part?) video where he goes through the best of the best of each category of... mice/rat-like animals. He can mention also that some of the things people consider(ed) rodents aren't and thus can't be included. Clint made a great Mr. Rogers 2 parter of 'best pet video,' and this could be a fun follow-up - getting into more detail. Could be a 5 or 10 animal review, or he can do a 16->8->4->2=>1 which would win best pet rodent video. <3 <3 <3

As I mentioned in the YT comments last night, I had a recent "encounter" with a muskrat. April 21st, as part of a belated birthday outing with a friend. It occurred at the koi pond at the Henry Vallas Zoo in Madison, WI. There is no signage for the little dude. It appeared from the shore on one end of the pond, swam near the duck, and climbed out of the water, to chill out a bit. Then it swam most of the way across the koi pond toward the bridge I was walking across. I enjoyed the many koi colorations and planned to rest and reflect there. I hadn't seen its tail yet, but it was body proportionally more like a tribble than a beaver. I did not know what it was, as there was no signage to identify it. It likely found this pond and decided to call it home. <3 Which is good for the muskrat. Safe haven.

Another great video as always Clint! I love mice and rats so much, and I also completely adore snakes so it’s a bit of a shame that nature worked out the way it did when It comes to what most snakes eat, but it’s the natural world and it does it’s thing. Looking forward to the extras

But which one is the best pet for me? Which would you pick?

Around 4:38, during the transition from the long-whiskered fellow back to Clint, there's a very brief spurt of white noise; my guess is that it's an stray frames' worth of audio from the previous Simpsons clip or something.
