I know, right? There's not much on Youtube that makes the old noggin hurt these days. Thank heaven for Clint and crew!

“One of you will be sent to placebo space” is a fantastic line lol

I would also like to see the answer to this question as well. I wondered the same thing.

My head hurts and I hate everything. Fantastic video!

Commenting to see the answer, because this confuses me as well, although I'm not sure I could have phrased the question so clearly.

Hi Jason, I've got a question for Clint! I understand the phylogenies and monophyletic groups stemming from a last common ancestor. But it confuses me when he says "all of these are more closely related to each other than to anything in this sister clade." My intuition would say that I am more closely related to my cousin than my great great great great grandson or grand nephew, even though my cousin and I share a more distant common ancestor. Is this intuition wrong for species? It is because you can't apply the family genetic "math" of shared genes to species - where the whole group of animals contains the gene pool for the species instead of just parents passing half my genes to each child? And is part of it because he is usually talking about the animals living today in the phylogenies, and not the hidden/extinct ancestors that split from one another? Thank you!
