Here’s the ticket link for our S.F. Sketchfest show tomorrow with guests Ron Funches and Erin Kief! You can also find information there to watch the show from anywhere through our livestream

From Arnie:

It was brutally cold in Chicago for a long stretch of January which made everything just a little bit harder. But I had a nice birthday, including a great birthday dinner at Hermosa put together by Emily. Had a lot of fun at the Chicago live show at Thalia Hall. I was worried the impending blizzard was going to dampen our turnout but we had a great time and I chatted with people who had traveled a long way to get there which I really appreciate. Not sure exactly when we’ll release the audio for that but it’s a fun one.

From Matt:

January 2024

This month, I’ve been enjoying the cold and being cozy at home. Had a fun live show at Thalia Hall and actually got to enjoy hanging out with Adal, Arnie, the doc crew, other old friends, and some of you after the show.

Audio:

More How Did This Get Made? Their The King’s Daughter episode is a real journey and I have to see this terrible movie now.

TV/Movies/Web stuff:

Lots of HGTV: Rock the Block, Windy City Rehab, and Battle for the Beach. Enjoying Alison Victoria and Ty Pennington (and others). Also watched Worst Cooks in America and forgot how crazy that show is. I should support more scripted TV, but lately it seems…harder to do? Somehow?

Games:

Finished Tears of the Kingdom. Pretty good. I’ll pick it up again, eventually (probably), but I moved on to Cozy Grove. It’s a fun, very different, little cozy game with a finite amount of tasks every day (sort of). Like a slightly more focused Animal Crossing? With the ghosts of bears on an island. Also playing lots of Wingspan with friends on my phone now.

Collecting:

I started skipping this section, but I got a holy grail item this month: the Master of the Universe Classics version of Castle Grayskull. Finally found it for a (relatively) reasonable price on eBay. I’ve been debating buying this for 10 years and I finally just did it. It’s glorious.

Food:

About to leave for the SF Sketchfest show and looking forward to enjoying some new restaurants out there. Went to Fiya here in Andersonville though and had a great meal and one of the best pieces of cake I’ve ever had in my life (Banana tahini? Who knew?)

Hope to see you in San Francisco!

Matt

Two (2) bonus episodes each month (one guaranteed in-world; one that may be in-world, behind the scenes, or something else fun from the creators)

Deus Moribundis

Then mentioned in a post that they were taking a break. I could be wrong but I think I remember hearing 2 months of no main feed, but the 2 bonus episodes a month are still coming out (that's why we got the Offices and Bosses episode)

Crono Hollow

Is there a reason there hasn't been a new episode in 2 months? If there is, I haven't seen it anywhere.

SuMar

I’m sorry for the following word vomit but, for the last eight years this show has been the most consistent thing in my life. I really did grow up with it. I remember hearing the ads for it the summer going into high school. I’m now almost a year out of my four year college and still look forward to magic tavern every week. At first it was another goofy thing I was into and embarrassed of like many other hobbies of mine. Now I’m an adult who loves to listen to it with my future wife. Thank you magic tavern cast for the comfort during bad days alone and the laughs during good times with friends. So whenever the tavern boys return I’ll be happy and ready. P.s from one Ohio boy to another thanks Arnie for reminding me there’s always room for fantasy in my quaint Ohio life.
