Just as doubt began to creep in, Belita’s voice finally echoed through the silence after what felt like an eternity.

A pleasant scent drifted toward me the moment I opened the door.

Her room.

Judging by the single bed, it seemed the couple used separate rooms.

Her husband must have felt completely defeated whenever he stepped foot in here.

Looking at the number of them, it was clear she had been indulging her desires alone for quite some time.

I bowed my head, though I couldn’t help but sneak a glance at her.

She wore a tight-fitting dress, just like the one from the first time we met. It made the atmosphere feel like a continuation of that day—the day she harshly scolded me. That memory alone was enough to get my heart racing.

I was really about to sleep with a rich madam who once treated me like I was beneath her.

I had thought it strange that Calissa spent so much money on me. It made sense now—she must not have told her husband or asked him for help. And if this small amount had been enough to tip them toward bankruptcy, then they must have already been deep in debt before all this.

A good way to turn this situation around suddenly came to mind.

“I can help you.”

Ongur slowly raised his head, disbelief written on his face.

“Help…?”

I pulled out ten gold coins and tossed them in front of the kneeling Ongur.

He gasped, staring at them wide-eyed.

“Of course,” I said, “it’s not for free.”
