The next day, I found myself standing in front of a building, hesitating to go inside.

Choi Han Group.

The name was displayed in massive letters the front. The building was much bigger, wider, and taller than any of the others nearby. It stood out clearly, even from a distance.

“No wonder people use this place as a landmark.”

In a city filled with buildings that all looked the same, this one stood apart. It was easy to recognize, which made it a common point of reference for people trying to find their way.

This enormous structure, almost like a lighthouse, felt completely out of place for someone like me. Yet here I was, standing at its entrance, about to walk in.

In my hand, I held a file folder. Yeonhee had left it behind and asked me to bring it to her. That’s why I had come here.

‘Knowing Yeonhee, there’s no way she left this behind by accident… She probably did it on purpose. Maybe she was jealous that I went to see Yeonji last time.’

The mindset for university and a corporate job had always felt completely different to me. So I had never expected to visit someone’s workplace. And I definitely didn’t think Yeonhee would lure me here like this.

‘She really hasn’t changed.’

She was older than Yeonji but younger than me.

Yeonhee had always been more mature than others her age. The kind of woman younger girls looked up to.

If Yeonhee, who rarely ever made mistakes, had intentionally left the file folder behind just to call me here, it probably meant she wanted to spend some relaxed, quiet time alone with me after a long while.

Despite her mature appearance, she still had a side to her. If I didn’t give her enough attention, she’d sometimes get upset. That was just how she was. So even though I had a pretty good idea of what she was up to, I came anyway—on purpose.

‘It’s nice to see Yeonhee again, but going in there is still a bit intimidating…’

I had been inside a few company buildings before during my time as a delivery driver, but this was my first time at the Choi Han Group.

“Haa… Let’s just go in.”

While I stood around hesitating, a few people started giving me suspicious glances. I finally gathered myself and stepped inside.

Everyone around me was dressed in suits. I was the only one in a plain T-shirt and jeans. Even though I was dressed casually, I felt completely out of place here.

Since I had to meet Yeonhee, I made my way to the front desk.

“Excuse me.”

“Yes, how can I help you?”

“I’m here to deliver this document. Could you tell me how to get to Lee Yeonhee?”

“Lee Yeonhee? One moment, please…”

The front desk employee welcomed me with a kind smile and started searching on her computer. After a few moments, she looked back at me with a surprised expression.

“Um… As far as we know, there’s only one Lee Yeonhee at headquarters. Are you sure you’ve come to the right person?”

“What? This should definitely be the right place…”

“Hmm… Is this the person you’re looking for?”

She turned the monitor toward me. A clear photo of Yeonhee’s face appeared on the screen.
