Aubrey didn’t even glance at the camera, which, for Fran, was both annoying and perfect. She’d been trying to coax more personality into Aubrey’s socials for months. Even now she still seemed camera shy. But there she was: long braid, iconic purple themed gym kit, full stack on the cable machine like it was personal. Not posing. Not even trying. Just being Aubrey.
And somehow, that was perfect.
The braid was Fran’s idea. Ppart stage prep and part visual branding. “Make people recognize you in silhouette,” she’d said. Aubrey had rolled her eyes. But she wore it anyway. Even let Fran gloss her shoulders with just a touch of sheen “for lighting.”
Now, watching her lock into position, expression soft but focused, Francesca hit record and whispered to no one, “This is the shot.”
Aubrey racked the weight and stretched, braid swinging down her spine like punctuation.
“You better have gotten that,” she said, not even turning around.
Francesca smirked. “Got it. And I’m writing: ‘Try not to fall in love before the next set.’”
She tapped the post button, already planning the instagram poll in her head. Pink might make her look even cuter — and even more impossible to resist. Let’s see who’s bold enough to vote for it.
