12/16/24 Status Report

Hey everyone!

I apologize for the lack of status reports. I've been trying to make up for it by showcasing the art we have done for v0.13.

Writing

I have been doing a fair amount of writing! I've been writing all the lewd scenes needed for v0.13, which was 13 lewd scenes! These scenes are the hardest for me to write, but I managed to power through and finish all of them! Bringing our total word count to...

I'll move on to writing Episode 7 again until the build gets further along. Once I can play around with it, I'll notice areas where we need more dialogue.

Art

As I've reported, Kokman has done all the art needed for v0.13 and v0.14. I've also been posting Sprite Updates that we've been doing. Now, I have Kokman working on updating older scenes to match the character models. I have an update on one of those scenes being posted on Thursday.

Animation

All 5 of Jeze's lewd scenes have been fully animated. Our animator is now working on the Ash and Dani scenes. They are almost done with one of the Dani scenes, and it looks excellent! They recently moved from Live2D to Spine2D to make better animations. 5 down, 8 to go!

My other artist has 42% of the assets needed for the coffee minigame done. And the rest they have half completed.

Coding

The biggest challenge of v0.13 has been coding the cellphone that the player can use to:

Chat with characters, check their status with the Cafe and their exp, check money, check character stats (i.e., how many times has Hazel gone down on you), custom wallpapers, access gallery from the phone, and hints on what to do next with each character.

The phone will do a lot, so it will take time to get it working. We are very close to completion! We are polishing it and hope to start stress-testing it very soon.

Which brings us to the big question:

When can we expect v0.13?

As some of you may have seen, we have an FAQ that helps answer many common questions like this.

Right now, I predict v0.13 to be released in early January. 

We have to test the phone still, we need to connect Notos to the map, make sure it works, make sure all the events work, get the lewd scenes animated, and do the coffee minigame.

There is still much work to do, but this episode is about implementing systems—making the map, the exp, and the phone work.

We won't have to worry about it once everything is done and working. So, while it may seem like things are taking forever, there will be a beautiful sunrise on the other side of this storm. 

That is all I have for now! Work might slow down as it is about to really be the Holiday season: Christmas, my birthday, and New Year's. It's going to be wild, and I have presents to wrap.
