You say that your metabolism does not go down with fasting, but indeed goes down with common diets. And that is the reason why common diets often suffer of regaining weight after a few months. What is the physical adjustment that cause this slow metabolism? Is it that mitochodria dissapeared? Is it the huge loss of muscle? And, if the metabolism has gone down already with a common diet, How can we make the metabolism to go up again? Can fasting help to recover the metabolism to a normal level?

In short, what is really happening with muscle? Can it really be conserved or even increased during long water fasting, TRE or intermittent fasting? Can you find more proven evidence of this in humans? Also, if some growth is induced by fasting or TRE, can this go against what Longo always want (which is reduce IGF-1 to extend health and longevity)?
