Also, if the 'rap was never the plan' bit, in the UK, rapping wasn't seen as a way to make real money until recently, they may have made it look like they got their money from the music.. maybe it is still, I don't actually know. Grime broke down some doors, but they had to make commercial tunes to make a bag in the early days, a lot of our platforms for rap were built off of grime being mainstream for a while, but we're not like the US still.
