A New Month Begins

 Hey All,

I hope this message finds you well, and that May -- in its early-going, anyway -- is doing you right.

I wanted to write you all a brief note to thank you for your continued support of this endeavor. I'm having such a great time making Colin's Last Stand (and interacting with all of you as much as I can), and it's heartening to see so many of you stick around for CLS' third calendar month. This is what I want to do with my life. If you're reading this message, you're letting me live my dream most directly, and I truly owe you a great deal.

A few people have expressed concern that they had to lower their monthly pledge (or withdraw entirely), but understand that I never expected the  Patreon to remain above $40,000. While I'd love to get back to that point one day, that meteoric a level isn't necessary for me to deliver the goods. I want you to give what you can, when you can, and feel no guilt over the financial ups and downs. What's most important to me is that you're enjoying the content, our interactions, and this community, a community that's growing larger each day.

While Patrons have left and the money has gone down a bit, April actually ended with a net gain of nearly 50 Patrons month-over-month, and more than 500 people joined during the month, replacing all that left (and then some). Welcome, newcomers!

As a friendly reminder, last month's transactions will result in action this month, and so on and so forth. So if you pledged $25+/month last month, you'll see your name in the Producer Credits beginning Monday, May 8th. If you pledged at the $50+/month level last month, you'll get a postcard this month (I still have about 20 more to send from April as well, in case you haven't received yours yet... I apologize sincerely for the delay). And if you pledged at the $100/month level, well, you're that much closer to your personalized thank you video, and for that, I tip my cap to you.

Oh, and for $10+/month Patrons, keep an eye out in the coming days for a Q&A thread. I'm looking to record this month's Q&A this weekend, and post it then as well. We'll see how the schedule shakes out (turns out moving is the most time consuming and arduous thing I've done in a while).

Above all else, please stay engaged here on Patreon, over on Reddit, Facebook, and Twitter, and please comment, thumb up (or down, if you'd like) videos on YouTube, and spread the word with your friends and family. I truly think we're onto something special here with Colin's Last Stand. Here's to the future.

Your friend, -Colin

P.S. I'll have a News Burst out later tonight; gotta get some shopping done for the apartment first.

P.P.S. I bought a new book today called "Neither Snow Nor Rain," a history of the USPS. I'm aiming to read a new book every 7-10 days moving forward (which may be ambitious; we'll see), so I'll continue to keep you up to date on that, as well.

Colin. I'm a astrophysicist/material scientist and current college physics professor. so if you are ever looking for additional scientific insight on any topics, I'm you're guy. Thanks for all the great work!

Joshua reding

I just joined at the $5 tier after watching your NASA video. Please keep doing what you're doing

Michael Tennick

Keep it coming Colin I don't sully my self with social media activity so this is my only to reach out to you , I have received my postcard and love the content, I just want more of it but understand the need to deliver high content so I'm happy 😊 thank you

George Newton

Great idea with the frequent new book reads. Love your approach to this business so far, very healthy reasonable expectations. Good luck and take care

Loving the content so far; eager to see more history related videos. I'll be maintaining my contribution at only $5 for the moment. Exchange rate from brazilian R$ to US$ is a bitch. Also, I hope everything went well with the moving, and wish you and Erin all the best moving foward.

Thank you!

Colin Moriarty

I'm more of a reader, but I could give it a try... =)

Colin Moriarty

You're very welcome. I'm totally shot, yeah. But the pace must be kept! Thank you for your support.

Colin Moriarty

Thank you so much! Glad you're enjoying it.

Colin Moriarty

Thanks ma! Love you!

Colin Moriarty

Thanks for the recommendation! We actually live right near the pier, so I suspect it'll be more a part of life than a day trip. =D

Colin Moriarty

Thank you so much!

Colin Moriarty

Thank you!

Colin Moriarty

All good, my dude. I'm wishing you the best with your studies.

Colin Moriarty

You get what you pay for, my dude! I'm actually pretty good at budgeting my time usually, but April was heinous. The postcards won't be an issue moving forward, but if you really don't want your postcard, I will make note. Lemme know!

Colin Moriarty

Thank you! Which Andrew Jackson book are you reading? American Lion?

Colin Moriarty

Thank you! I'm going to try to keep book (and documentary) updates coming.

Colin Moriarty

I haven't, but I'll look into it. I'm specifically looking to do a video about Venezuela in the coming months, and it's going to require a ton of research, because I honestly know little more than a person who reads the newspaper.

Colin Moriarty

Thank you! I'm looking forward to making it.

Colin Moriarty

I'm very glad to hear about your progress, and will continue to wish you the very best!

Excited for the new month, can't wait to see how we all settle into the rhythm of the consistent studio, backdrop etc. You'll always have my support. Much love ❀️

Cameron Liardi

I am not sure what your learning styles are, but look into audible.com if you don't already have it. Awesome for exercising you're brain during remedial tasks (driving and exercising). You'll get way more "reading" in if you are able to achieve good retention with that medium.

Chris Holtzer

Thanks for the heartfelt update Colin. I'm impressed you've been able to keep schedule as you move. You and Erin must be worn out. Thanks for including the book title. Sounds interesting. I may have to check it out. I'm currently rereading some of my fav books on WW1 (battlefield 1 inspired). Keep up all the great work but make sure to take time for yourself too man. Be well

Josh in Tampa

Congrats on the move and your continued success here at CLS. I've thoroughly enjoyed every piece of content produced by this channel, keep up the good work Colin. πŸ‘Š

Brad Russell [Toukz]

I too agree that CLS is something special and certainly something that I continue to look forward to. So, thank you for providing this content for us, bud. β€οΈπŸ˜˜πŸ‘πŸ»

Thanks for checking in man! I hope the move is going well. If you and Erin find yourselves with some time, the Santa Monica pier makes a great day trip, and the aquarium is really cool. I would recommend Gladstone's restaurant, but I know you're not a seafood fan (although they do have an Angus burger).

Scott Rabideau

Good luck with finishing the move-in process! Thank you for the content, keep up the amazing work.

Chris Nelson

Hope everything went well for you, sir! I'm loving the content, keep it coming!

Sorry man i was at the 25 dollor mark. But i had to lower it injust started to go back to college last semester and paying for it out of pocket. Long story. Anyways going back for Robotics pretty stoked. Still a long way but ill always suport you. Anways cant wait to see and hear more from you man.

Hey I'd love an option to opt out of the postcards if possible. They're a really awesome reward and appreciate the time and effort spent on mine but I also don't want to add more to your plate when you're doing such great work for us every day. I know I sound like a wanna-be martyr. Not trying to sound like a douche. Just wanted to see if that would be a possible option. Thanks Colin

Keep up the great work Colin and I can't wait for the new content! Hopefully you'll keep giving us great book suggestions. Just started reading up on your boy Andrew Jackson

Fred Bence

You're doing great stuff Colin and I've been enjoying sharing your YT vids with friends and family who were never into video games but are into history or politics or both and they're enjoying them! Great hearing what you're reading too, everyone's been mentioning "book of the month" stuff, but just getting a heads up about a book I may want to listen to on audible during long drives is great as well. Keep up the great work! Cheers!

Christopher Lee

Hey Colin, have you read the book titled comandante? It's a look inside Hugo chavez's Venezuela. I highly recommend it if you havent.

Shawn M Williams

Looking forward to more content!

My May has been going mighty fine so far - my amputee update is that my prosthetic liner was tested today, fits like a glove (or rather more accurately, like a sock) and in 7 days, I'll be taking my first steps since February 25th - which was also the day Colin's interview with Adam taught me that cyborg legs are already a real thing. As such, I happily enter another month as a Patreon producer perk level- keep it up good sir!
