Comments

Thank you for watching.

Colin Moriarty

Glad to hear it!

Colin Moriarty

Deepthroat?... The informant from the Watergate scandal?

Tyler

Awesome video. Learned a lot I hadn't previously learned or retained

Chris Eboli

That was well put together Colin. As a Canadian, my history of Watergate was spotty at best. Thank you for this.

Thank you!

Colin Moriarty

Thank you! I'll leave the "better" assessment to you, but I'm definitely getting more comfortable.

Colin Moriarty

I'm glad you (both) enjoyed the video, and learned something along the way!

Colin Moriarty

Glad to hear it. Thanks for watching!

Colin Moriarty

You're very welcome!

Colin Moriarty

Thank you for your kind and generous support. It really means a lot.

Colin Moriarty

Thank you for your support!

Colin Moriarty

LOL. No. I have a fear of driving.

Colin Moriarty

Merch is actually on the to-do list.

Colin Moriarty

Thank you for watching!

Colin Moriarty

Thanks. I agree that relaxed is probably the way to proceed.

Colin Moriarty

I'm glad you dug the episode! I don't know enough about Nixon's racial leanings, to be honest, but considering the time and place, it's entirely possible. The Southern Strategy would certainly play a role in that.

Colin Moriarty

Thanks!

Colin Moriarty

Learning's what it's all about! Thanks for watching!

Colin Moriarty

I'm glad to hear it. =)

Colin Moriarty

Thank you!

Colin Moriarty

Thanks! Glad you dug it. I'll be sticking to this format a lot more moving forward, since it seems to be resonating most with folks.

Colin Moriarty

There are certainly plenty of shades of gray to the man, that's for sure.

Colin Moriarty

Thank you for watching! I'm happy you walked away with some new knowledge.

Colin Moriarty

Very interesting. An absolute must read.

Colin Moriarty

Thank you!

Colin Moriarty

We shall see!

Colin Moriarty

I actually started it this past weekend, but got distracted. I gotta get back to it!

Colin Moriarty

The Oliver Stone film is so strange and interesting.

Colin Moriarty

Thank you so much. I really appreciate it. I'm glad you're digging the content so far!

Colin Moriarty

Thank you very much! I'm pleased it resonated with you.

Colin Moriarty

Thank you for watching. I appreciate your support!

Colin Moriarty

?!

Colin Moriarty

=)

Colin Moriarty

I don't know that he had much of a choice, though I think it certainly contributed heavily to his loss to Carter in '76.

Colin Moriarty

Excellent video, Colin!

Eric Iverson

This video is definitely one of my favorites so far. I can tell that you are getting better and more comfortable with each video.

couldn't agree more! thought this was great

Mike Calcara

Excellent episode! My dad always said he felt Nixon did a good job in the office but never elaborated why. I never asked deeper questions because we were only taught in school about Watergate, so it's awesome to hear more details in this way!

ScKeptiC17

This was one of my favorites so far. Very interesting. Thanks Colin!

Casey Lloyd

Another interesting episode, thank you Colin. Take care

Great episode this, Colin! Watergate is one of those things we hear mentioned a lot in Britain but don't always know much about (other than the Frost/Nixon interviews of course). Anyway, great job. Very proud to be supporting this venture of yours.

James Schubert

Fantastic episode! Great subject and very entertaining. Thanks mate

Ian Andrews

The same thing happened to me Sunday..tried to purchase a new gun and the store was closed. Had to drive across town to the only open store! Colin do you plan on getting a license or car now that you are in a "real" city? 😉

I know you are staying away from pushing merch but I would appreciate a basic CLS t-shirt with the logo.

Ivan Greenspan

This was a really great video. Very informative. I’ve been really wanting to learn more about Nixon, and I really appreciate the overview you gave.

John Quinn

Hey Colin I loved the little story you told before you got into the actual subject of the video. Keep doing more of that on the relaxed/less produced videos!

That was a great episode. Never been this excited about learning history about the US (the country that has welcomed me for 4 years now). Btw, I recall watching this documentary on Netflix (The 13th, i think is called) and it portrays Nixon as a racist, any real substance to that? I wanted to do some research on it but never got to it. Thanks, Colin!

Best one yet!

BurpleMan

Yet another great video. I love these fresh looks at history. Once again, I learned a great deal!

Brent Lindquist

They keep getting better, love the history lesson vids like this one.

Another great episode, man. You keep hitting them out of the park.

Probably my favorite video you have put out, loved the 'story time' vibe of you breaking down a complex issue into an abstract of sorts that I think works as a great jumping off point should one (myself included) want to learn more. Keep it up man.

Seth Eden

He practically ended the Bretton Woods agreement, a decision we are damaged by to this very day. I guess for me this eclipses every choice (even good ones) he made.

GabrieleEU

I'd never really delved too deep into Watergate before besides the basics, so I learned a hell of a lot from this. Fantastic summary and breakdown Colin, stuff like this is why I'm here 👊

Luke Drake

A People's History of the United States is free on iBooks in the UK, 3rd entry when you search the title. I couldn't get iTunes to download the paid edition. Free one seems to be the full thing though...

Gavin Todd

Wonderful video Colin. I always enjoy listening to your insight. Keep up the great work!

FBI is running a counterintelligence investigation against Russia, not a criminal investigation of Trump. This is geopolitics, not law. Most of the findings will be classified for spycraft reasons.

Jeremy Meyer

Awesome video Colin, there's a great doc on Netflix right now about Roger Stone, highly recommended, follows him from Nixon up until Trump's election win.

David Kramme

Nixon's my guy. Oliver Stone's film came out I was 18 in film school. I wore out the VHS. But I can not even imagine a Watergate-esque scenario unfolding today with social media. 17 intelligence agencies, the dark web, the deep web, etc... How would an epic modern cover up possibly work?

Jeremy Meyer

I'd done some reading on Nixon a few weeks back. The only thing I knew about him was Watergate. That dude, as crooked and shady as he was, actually did a lot of great shit. He was politically savvy, and had been around for a while in "the grass roots" politically. So in that sense, Trump is definitely no Nixon, lol. Man, what a great episode. I learned so much about what surrounded the scandal and I can see some parallels going on with the current situation -- even though we don't have much evidence, yet. I'd also like to commend and thank you for all the hard work you're doing, Col. The research and care you put into this really shows. Keep this shit going, my man!

Khalil Sadi

So much <3 for this episode. The intro, the storytelling vibe. The hotel pics. This is history the way it was made to be played.

Jeremy Meyer

Nice man. I genuinely learned something this episode. I know very little about Nixon, though I'm very interested. I heard that he gracefully stepped down from a very close election against Kennedy that he easily could have called for a recount but took it like a champ instead. Then again, that was from "Race For The White House" on CNN and I take everything they say with a big grain of salt. Good job man.

"Dwight Eisenhower was a fucking G."

Do you agree with Ford's decision to pardon Nixon? I know he did it to basically just shut the door on it and move on, but do you think the lack of prosecution for these crimes was really good for the country? I know you mentioned that he lost the election (probably) because of it. I have mixed thoughts on it, but curious where you stand on it. - Seems to be we protect politicians to much, and even though Nixon had some good accomplishments... I don't know if he should have been protected like that.
