Watch This Documentary: The Red Pill

Hey,

I know I'm woefully behind on this one, but I finally got a chance to watch all of The Red Pill, the documentary about feminism and men's rights activism.

I'm pretty sure most of you have seen this one already, but just in case you haven't, I highly recommend it. I don't agree with all of what's said and presented, but I definitely agree with some of it, and either way, I thought it was thought-provoking and fair.

(It's free to stream via Amazon Prime in the US.)

Finally got around to watching this. The only moment I couldn't stand in the movie was "Big Red" trying to make her points. Most of everything else seemed well thought out. At the very least, this is a showcase of how facts can potentially be manipulated to further whatever agenda you want them to. But there is some undeniable underrepresentation happening when it comes to groups trying to help with men's issues, and men deserve help just as much as women do.

Just this second finished Red Pill. I was in a place of understanding for a long time watching this film. Understanding how men got into the situation we are in. For decades we wouldn't allow women to do some of those dirty or dangerous jobs, and so we must slowly chip away at both sides to become truly equal. But that understanding went away. The portrayal in the media of the burning of innocent men and boys is disgraceful! These items and glossed over like a Bruce Almighty cookie piece. Then women that still get to live are brandished in name over every outlet possible. all of a sudden the first lady has a personal piece to camera to try help deal with the situation. Where is this help? As I write this, googling "Boko Haram" returns results from a news source posting only six hours ago that they (BH) have executed eight people. I'm becoming tired of having to look at the media and wonder where my representation is. you better believe if this were eight women executed it would be a front page story tomorrow for a lot out outlets. ref - http://www.news24.com/Africa/News/boko-haram-executes-eight-for-defying-sharia-police-video-20170711

Thanks for sharing. Just watched/listened to it and really appreciated that it seemed to be a fair portrayal. I would've liked to have seen a less belligerent feminist have a conversation with one of the men so, ideally, they can see it's not supposed to be about making sure that women (and men) are held down, but that men and women get all that they can. I'm firmly of the opinion that what's in media will inform the next generation. We saw psychiatrists turned into quacks in the 80s. Now, there's a severe shortage of psychiatrists in the nation. And I think it's the same in my generation (Gen-X) and in the next. You know how the dad was largely irrelevant in Stranger Things? For the time I've been a dad, it's been the same, where the dad is generally clueless or a schemer or cheats or bumbles everything he does. I'm painting with a broad brush (Veronica Mars in particular had a very strong dad in the show), but generally, my kids can watch dad doing something and mom coming in to have to fix it and I'm bothered that they may learn that they'll be irrelevant when grown, so what's the point of doing anything to get there. The next generation of men will learn that, but the women haven't learned that they can back off the pedal some.

I'll look into it!

They've totally crossed the paradigm from equality to supremacy. It's bizarre.

Colin Moriarty

I still need to watch that one, I think.

Colin Moriarty

I like how she got feminists and people who disagreed with the MRAs to appear. Provided a great balance.

Colin Moriarty

It's really thought-provoking stuff.

Colin Moriarty

Been meaning to watch it forever. It was really great.

Colin Moriarty

I'll definitely check it out. I just watched the Illuminati Documentary on Prime and it was entertaining as well.

Alex Ball

I couldn't agree with this recommendation more. This might be the best work highlighting how "equality" organizations have turned into discriminatory groups with religious-like beliefs in their ideology.

David Phillips

I watched it after seeing Cassie Jay's sit down with Dave Rubin. It's a fantastic watch and, yes, extremely thought provoking.

This put the feminist/MRM in a completely different perspective and I can say my mind was opened and thoughts were questioned after this. A Must watch for sure.

Sean

I was so livid when I watched this. I have 6 nephews and cant imagine them growing up where these issues are ignored. Definitely a must watch.

Misty

I was a backer, glad to see you got it in your hands
