@kacper I disagree. They don’t go to a different world. They’re held against their will in an mmo with their bodies on life support in a hospital in order to stay alive. If you check the wiki and animelist pages for the novels and anime the genre isn’t even listed as isekai.

Kenneth Oms

Ehhh it's still considered an isekai by nature. And this comes from both an isekai and Sao (I know 😭) fan :)

Get back in your hole.

Colin Moriarty

Coming out as a dirty weeb on here, sword art online is not an isekai. They don’t get transported into another world, they just can’t log out of a VRMMO. Sword Art is considered more of a Death Game for its first season and the later seasons is just them playing different mmos. Most isekai have the same trope in which the main character dies by getting hit by a truck. That’s where the Truck Kun meme comes from

Just thought you might have had an insight as to why, but no worries. Keep up the awesome work

Zack Fair

No idea.

Colin Moriarty

Is they any reason why monark isn't on the PlayStation store yet?

Zack Fair

That's an interesting idea, but I would understand why the playerbase wouldn't want that.

Colin Moriarty

Perhaps, but he's not wrong :P

Loved the episode, just wanted to say that from what I've heard, and in my own experience, the reason for player backlash against the Diablo 3 Auction House was this: The core loot system of the game was fundamentally redesigned around the AH, actively making it less likely for a character to loot the most sought after items for their own class. For example, a Barbarian would now constantly come across rare loot for other classes, virtually forcing them to use the AH to obtain the legendary items they could actually use. It's above my technical level of understanding, but apparently a whole bunch of the loot algorithms and game design was skewed to push people to use the AH, which of course ActivisionBlizzard got a piece of. As I remember, the console release of D3 did not feature the AH, which got such a positive response that Blizz removed it from the PC version.

Seems pretty big to me.

How can anyone say Xbox has a big year next year? Starfield: Likely won't hit 2022, and WHO KNOWS if it won't be a typical BGS bugfest that will sell millions of copies on Steam alone with "Mods" as the excuse Redfall & Contraband: No Gameplay, No Hype. Also, "Co-op" is a red flag. Xbox needs SINGLE PLAYER games Perfect Dark, Fable, Avowed, and most other Xbox Game Studios titles have no chance of releasing next year Now if we're talking their "console launch exclusive" lineup, GamePass certainly looks great for next year, but I don't see how it's more exciting than Stray, Sifu, Tchia, Ghostwire Tokyo, & Forspoken (FFXVI ain't next year).

NickBLeaveIt

Indeed. It's why I don't bother with social media anymore.

Colin Moriarty

Great show fellas. Totally feel the trepidation regarding Forspoken. It could be really good, but my god they need to reduce the amount of voice over during the traversing. Also, 100% agree with Colin regarding JK Rowling. Nothing she even said should really be considered controversial yet they want to cancel the creator of the franchise. What's fandom without internet outrage these days?

The Funky Monk

If everything makes it! Is the point.

Colin Moriarty

Surprised to hear that you think this year isn’t huge. There are huge, anticipated games in the dozens. And a lot of new IP. This could go down as the best year in a very long time.
