Defining Duke, Episode 59: PlatinumGames Wants Xbox To Acquire Them + PlayStation Censorship

Xbox's messaging continues to puzzle the Dukes as Phil Spencer has claimed he wants games like Starfield to be the most played Todd Howard game yet it has the most walls surrounding it. We see "popular Activision Blizzard titles" are remaining multi-platform, so the situation for Bethesda is different. Will this energy be maintained in future deals? That will be most telling and it's possible that Microsoft has a potential candidate. PlatinumGames can't help but want to work with Xbox as it has been two weeks straight of them making headlines with their desires. Last week, it was a Scalebound revival. Now? It's the desire to be acquired. Furthermore, PlayStation is at the center of another "censorship" discussion. This time, the subject is Martha Is Dead which is modifying content and thus delaying the physical release of the indie developer LKA's game. How far can these platform holders be allowed to go and how often should it actually occur? There is much to discuss, so let's settle in and have a chat.

2022-02-23 00:28:31 +0000 UTCI struggled with leg growth for a while. I was scrawny most of my life and am naturally very lean. For those who also struggle with packing on mass on legs- Eat more (lean protein and compex carbs). You think you're eating enough but you're not. 3,000-4,000 calories a day. Also, a very important tactic that ended up working well for me- for every workout you do for any muscle group- do two workouts for legs. So be hitting legs twice a week. Focus primarily on bbell squats. Actually get the weight shouldered and above your hip box. Leg press is an OK lift, but should always be supplemental to Bbell squat. Go big.

Heard about the podcast on your channel, but never took the time to check it out until recently. I wanted to say, Though the viewer count may have dropped after your first partner left, I saw at least one episode with him, and I believe the energy of the show is much better now with you and Cog, and it has kept me watching weekly and even subscribing to the Patreon. I’ve been wanting to see more of Cogs content, but didn’t watch the ILP podcast until last week when I saw the ultimate episode and got to see King David on there. After seeing how great their energy is, I’ve now been watching ILP episodes. I think adding King to this podcast would be out of this world. The energy would be insane, I love the personality of all three of you guys and the commenter made a great point to mention his loyalty to Xbox being an amazing asset for the shows development. My hype for this shows release every week would skyrocket with king on here. I would literally pay extra for it if I had to lol. I CANT STRESS ENOUGH FOR YALL TO GET KING ON THIS PODCAST

While I agree with your ideas and desires about who that person should be, Matty, don't sell yourself short. You've done a great job building the show into a staple in both the LSM and Xbox community. Cog is a beast and has helped propel the show, and I think whoever the 3rd chair becomes will do the same, but you're just as much a star. The growth you've made with Duke and your personal content is something to be proud of! Great episode, boys!

2022-02-17 22:22:42 +0000 UTCThe dukes don’t go looking far when mama Micah is in the building for the possible third cohost or Skillup would bring more attention to the podcast or someone that feels strongly about Xbox and does not care for the other consoles would bring up some interesting conversations. Another thing I got to add is I don’t dislike crossfire x I reckon it is somewhat enjoyable for the little I played but I don’t get how crossfire x got a 3/10 by IGN but a broken game like battlefield got a 7/10 by IGN does this support the theory that a boring game is worse then a broken/disgraceful game or is IGN just too afraid to actually criticise a big named game.

2022-02-17 21:25:11 +0000 UTCI wasn't going to say anything about it because I didn't want to come off as negative, but after seeing Dakota Brown's comment... I also was never a big fan of the previous co-host. He had his moments when he was amusing but for the most part (at least for me) he was just more obnoxious than anything. Despite owning an XBSX, early on I found myself mostly listening to SS and when I did listen to DD I time stamp skipped to topics I was interested in. I just had to limit my exposure due to not liking the co-host. Since the addition of Cog I find myself listening through the whole episode. I was unaware of him (or anyone for that matter) before he was added but his addition has really made the podcast gel. I love the chemistry as it currently is. I don't particularly think a third host is "necessary" but it sounds like they have their mind made up. At least it sounds like they are going to approach it slowly as they should. Anyways, I'm a recent (last month) patron and I'm loving all the content accross the board from LSM. PS - Matty's slightly off mic "WTF" when reading about the BF2042 season 1 content delay a few episodes back had me rolling at work. Co-workers looking at me laughing hysterically w/ no context like I was a mental patient.

Matty and Cog, the show is MUCH better with you both compared to the previous host. This is no disrespect to him, but the energy on the show is amazing. Matty, you always bring a lot of knowledge and fair opinions (even when I don’t agree). Cog, your positivity and enthusiasm makes me excited/smile every episode. This show convinced me to get a series X! Just wanted to say that. Thank you guys.
