Yes it is, unless you are someone who doesn't consider smash bros a fighting game because it is heavily inspired by it

IceCreamRickShaw

I'd like to have her on soon.

Colin Moriarty

We tried! We'll try again with the next game.

Colin Moriarty

That could be cool. I think it can be done.

Colin Moriarty

This is very interesting insight.

Colin Moriarty

Is that a fighting game, though?

Colin Moriarty

Jet Brody.

Colin Moriarty

It's a confusing situation.

Colin Moriarty

Write in!

Colin Moriarty

Dustin!

Colin Moriarty

It's very funny, and on-point.

I'd love to see talk about the Future of Tomb Raider with Melonie Mac, she absolutely hates the new Tomb Raidergames

I was wondering if Brian would be involved in the trophies of Super Perils of Baking, and am excited to hear he helped make the list. Now I hope he wants to help me get the PS5 ones with a guide after I get the PS4 ones haha. How dare ms turn down your game for gpass. They should be honored you offered. Disappointing, uncle Phil :(

I think if a fighting game was to go free to play they should adopt the model that League of Legends has where you can play the game completely free, they have a huge roster of roving characters that if you get good with one you have the option to buy the character to unlock it forever. Then they have skins and what no. I think that would probably be the best way to do it. If they have enough characters and stages and they all play differently it could be very successful.

I think the problem with the f2p fighting games conversation is that we've already seen that the money barrier isn't the reason people don't play fighting games. We've had plenty of attempts at f2p fighters. Even Tekken made an attempt on PS3. People truly stop playing fighting games when the available help in game is exhausted and they feel they have no other avenues to get better without looking things up online. Most people don't want to play a game where watching and learning from others is necessary to succeed. Better tools need to be made available for teaching and learning in game and Guilty Gear Strive made a huge leap in this department post release by creating a mode that lets you upload combos for other players to easily practice in their game. I think we are getting closer to these games getting more popular. I can find a match of Strive so much easier than other fighting games out right now and it feels like Evo gets bigger every time. But I think it all has more to do with the approachability than the price.

Hey so this isnt accurate now. The purchase of Newcastle by the Saudi PIF has now been completed having eventually been greenlit by the EPL. Totally sad day for sure.

"Brawlhalla" is a great example of a free to play fighting game

Fracture went HARD

Colin, as a person living in England, the team was Newcastle United who play in the Premier League, where a Saudi guy tried to buy the team and was rejected on I believe what we have is a test for fit and proper people when it comes to buying Football (soccer) teams

1:05:00 Virtuous cycle seems like a bit of marketing blather, but it's actually been used for a long time as the opposite of a Vicious cycle. They could have found something that had the opposite meaning from Vicious, but they wanted it to start with a V. Searching around, I've seen examples of it all the way back to 2004, but I think it has been used before that.

Kaz Redclaw

Props on that thumbnail pic.

Dustin is right about The Nerd Crew, it somewhat reminds me of a couple of Colin's previous workplaces πŸ˜‚
