I was deeply invested, then Gene said he thought the government should cover student loans while bragging that he didn’t have any. That just kicked me right in the teeth and knocked me out of the overall conversation. It was a great interview though and the more diverse your guests, the better. Even if you got somebody I couldn’t listen to for one second, I would still acknowledge the value of that interaction. Keep it up.

It's fucked the backlash that Gene got from """"""concerned"""""" peers for appearing on the show. Listen, I don't agree with a lot of what people in this community says, or what Colin says. I feel like a decent amount of your fanbase is stuck in 2016 where blue haired "feninazis" are the greatest threat to the world or at the very least are "anti SJW" types, a glance over the politics section of the discord proves as much. And yes, I do think Colin's stances on JK Rowling are wrong and I think he could stand to learn a damn bit more about trans issues. I do think he's made some off colour remarks in the past. Perhaps my biggest critique is that he says that last stand is a platform for every voice but I can count on like one hand the amount of times he's had many truly progressive people on. I guess I'm somewhat aligned with the opinions of these people in Gene's replies. But I've been a patron for years and like what you guys do. These people have a perma online view of the world where you can't even have a professional interaction with someone who holds pretty standard ass views for your average American. Colin is so obviously not a fucking fringe nutjob and people shun him like he is. These people are psycho dude. They are acting like Gene just got interviewed by Nick Fuentes or something.

The way Gene's "colleagues" are treating him is so utterly stupid it makes me sick. None of them have any skill, just rehashing press releases, doing interviews with their friends on Twitter. They don't know the first thing about journalism and think they have the right to talk down to an actual journalist and tell him or who isn't OK to talk to. Read through all the responses and it's the usual condescending baloney they always pedal, including the "it's not harassment, it's just criticism" but as soon as Colin or anyone shares their work and people don't like it, then it's just harassment and not criticism. If I were him I'd tell them all to shove it and block them. Buncha parasitic snakes who just know people in the industry and bounce around from job to job because they have no actual talent and once the corporations realize how much money they're paying them for literally zero return, they get laid off. I wasn’t going to check out this episode based on the headline alone (not interested in The Washington Post), but then I saw Dustin post about the heat on Twitter so I looked into it. Didn’t even realize it was with Gene. My game dev buddy is actually a big fan of Gene but personally I muted Gene on Twitter a while back for some trolling comments he made towards others. So I was surprised to see you have him on. But I figured I’d at least give this a listen and go from there. Decent ep but I still have mixed feelings on the dude. I respect your approach to having anyone come on the show if they’re up for it.

Colin I imagine you're not fully aware of this. I'm just going to tell you about the fact that Washington Post receives 4.6 million dollars from the CCP through a newspaper called China Daily. They run ads on their website now that's not a lot of money I know when you compare it to the 100 million dollars they make a year according to one website. https://efile.fara.gov/docs/3457-Amendment-20200601-2.pdf this link will take you to the Department of Justice filing that they had to make in order to sell ads on the newspaper. Every major company that runs outside the United States In. Has to go through this process with the Department of Justice. Also the New York Times is listed on here they were part of the nine million dollar that got the CCP several very Pro China articles. If you're wondering why this guy dodged your questions about the CCP this might be it. I don't know if you noticed but he was bragging a lot about their advertisement situation. Second I'm going to point out the fact that the Washington Post has written several articles with no real facts discriminating against people in India who practice Hinduism. These articles not only offend people who live in that country but they actively try to hurt their democracy. India may have several problems but the last time I checked they weren't locking their people inside while they screaming their heads off and you could hear the entire city crying for people to save them. The last time I checked I didn't see a bunch of people getting round up into cattle cars hands tied behind their back like they were a bunch of cows. Also I've never heard a story about India publicly admitting to the fact that they think castrating a female from a minority group is a good thing. the Washington Post wants you to believe that Indian people are terrible human beings. Especially towards Muslims now I don't know if they're politicians who live in India right now. That believe the words of Gandhi or practice peaceful coexistence. On the other hand, I challenge you go online type in the Washington Post type in India or Hinduism right beside that in Google. And see how many negative articles they write come up. It will shock you! that's just scraping the bottom of the barrel. The Washington Post Wright's multiple articles everyday to hurt people in other parts of the world. And they push their Neo capitalist agenda on all of us and act like there's some good left wing organization as they continue to make our government more fascist.

Sorry not sorry but I don't like anybody that works for Jeff Bezos the future is people like you who have to do crowdfunding and do independent journalist. These big giant corporations don't stand for anything they only help each other and they only want to divide the human race. I did listen to it and my opinion didn't change. my opinion is still the same I don't like large corporate media. Especially when they dox and harass people.
