I definitely miss the novelty of physical game discs and owning the game case. So many cool game art covers, back covers and game manuals. They meant so much as a kid. I also loved midnight launches - last big one for me was Call of Duty: Black Ops II. But these days, discs are inconvenient and all the novelty of looking at game art is covered by online trailers, website promo art and wallpapers. There IS still something cool about owning physical game media, but I do think owning the digital copy is much easier and convenient. But like you've said, there are potential pitfalls with an all digital future. We shall see...

2022-05-05 07:44:10 +0000 UTCmy very last midnight launch was the Switch launch. so i guess technically my last midnight launch was BotW. but my last standard release midnight launch was Fallout 4. i wasn't buying because i had the pipboy collectors reserved through amazon, but i went to gamestop just to experience the launch. that was a good day.

I chose the digital route, but I'm still sad about some game I can't play easily. Also, The Freelancing debate DDU was a great one! Good job Dukes!
