The only companies I'm still getting collectors editions from are Nippon Ichi Software America, Atlus, Limited Run Games, and East Asia Soft. Of course, I also buy them digital when they get cheap. ($99 for the collectors edition of the Prinny Volume 1/2, for instance, for the switch version, then when the collection is $20 on Steam I'll buy it again there to play on Steamdeck.) I used to buy them from Stardock Software as well, but their founders editions are now just digital as well. You buy the founders edition, and you get the game and all DLC and Extra content for it when they come out. I've gone back to old games. Modern games are largely better as a whole, but there are occasional gems back then (Chrono Trigger stands up with the best modern games,) and a lot of stinkers these days (Battleborn being a good example. The gameplay was a little fun, but the servers and always online were garbage.) All of those risks taken are basically now in Indie games. On PS5, there's a home console that can play games even offline, and anyone else logging into that console can play your games even offline, and any number of away consoles where you can play your library if you login to it on your account, but no-one else can play them on their account... If all consoles must ping the servers on Xbox then that's a reason to avoid it. The crappy one-home-console-only on playstation is why I only have one ps4 and one PS5, where I own 3 PS3's and 5 Vitas. I think Steam is a lot less restrictive as well.

Pretex I'm a ps/pc player so there is that. Fall out 3: the game ate 3 of my saves and the only one left was 23 hours back from the point I was at so never finished it Fall out NV: as the game went on it got more and more laggy and everytime I entered the strip it was a coin flip if I would hard crash to dash or have to unplug my ps3 to reset. On pc I bought it on a steam sale and it barely worked unless I downloaded a mod patch to optimize it (I had a system that played bf3 on ultra so it wasn't my pc) Skyrim: 4 saves eaten, but learned from fo3 so saved much more often so was OK. Loved the game and wanted to plat it. I lost my plat because the one for the relic pieces. You could only miss one, and I missed my one early on, but the second missed one was when I did the quest, it said I got the piece but it never hit my inventory so didn't count. I downloaded the pc version on steam sale and ran much better but then dlc came out. Most of the dlc was just mods made official and felt... Wrong to me Eso: in every beta, saw the bugs and passed it off as beta jank, full release came and same bugs still there, dungeons broken, massive advantages tied to a expensive collector edition, broken quests, bot issues breaking quests for months I gave up Fo4: skipped Fo 76 : yeah..... Starfield is going to be a wait and see for me, I just don't have the same trust in them as most because of the above

What publisher isnt delaying ganes right now ?

Craig Mcguire

Re: delays, etc., seems like it's a management/leadership issue, no? The "if you can't beat 'em, buy 'em" approach isn't working. From an exclusive perspective, MS simply can't compete with Sony. Anyone asking why that is?

Doug, just Doug

It's a fair thing to mention, but CD projekt Red had one amazing game under their belt Bethesda has several.

Really enjoyed seeing Colt on the episode. That third person helps the flow.

One notable part of the cyberpunk situation was that it was delayed several times and still didn't really hit like you would expect for a game delayed that many times from a high profile dev. I don't anticipate the same sort of issues with starfield but the comparison is worrisome in more ways than one.

This is why I haven't bought an Xbox yet. Since 2018 or even before then they have been promising exclusive games and new ip's with all there studio acquisitions but they still have nothing to show for it. This was the right move though Bethesda can't get away with releasing a super buggy game again
