The shot of Jon Snow facing the army of horses alone is one of the best in the entire show. One of the few times where the hero actually triumphs and we get a satisfying conclusion to an arc. Unfortunately this and episode 10 are the last great episodes in my opinion before seasons 7 and 8 rush to a disappointing end

2022-05-31 03:05:03 +0000 UTCHello brothers! Another great episode!! I just wanted to drop some knowledge. You keep wondering why the end was so rushed or why there was only 7.5 seasons. Originally HBO and RRMartin had signed an agreement for 10 seasons with a possible 11th. Unfortunately the writers (Benioff and Weiss) more or less demanded an early exit at the close of season 6. Reasons are mostly speculative, as their public excuses are pathetic. The most weighted are; the show was just getting to difficult for them. Ever since they got over the original material they were either incapable or unwilling to write 4-5 seasons alone. Also, the amount of work going into each episode was UNBELIEVABLE. The poor crew were barely holding onto their sanity. One last possibility is they wanted off this project to move onto their next feature which was whatever god awful Starwars film they were “supposed” to work on next. Hilariously D+D were taken off that project after GOT wrapped anyway! Rumor has it that HBO was considering re-shooting with different writers. This has never been confirmed but Martin’s reaction to the last 13 episodes is on record. He hates it! There’s an entire documentary on the making of GOT on HBO, check it out!
