KnockBack, Episode 231 | Terminator 2: Judgment Day (Video)

Comments

Just getting this, great episode. I want to point out that Linda Hamilton was born in '56, which would have made her 27 while filming Terminator ('83) and 34 while filming ('90). I remember Colin saying she was like 19 filming Terminator and he said Micah said 27 in Terminator 2 and was kinda roasting her a bit for looking well beyond her age. But she looks her age! Thanks guys, love the content.

Shit, the best combo at Kinda Funny was Nick Scarpino and Colin Moriarty. I’d skip most of the daily shows, but when I saw the two of you together, I couldn’t click on it quick enough.

Forrest Hunter

That's awesome.

Colin Moriarty

I still have a WOW sticker on my car from the Opie and Anthony days! I discovered them here in Tucson back in 2006 when they were syndicated locally from the Krock days, then subscribed to XM at the time to listen uncensored. They've been broken up since mid 2014 but still do their own respective shows. And as others have mention Fez passed away a little while ago. Was great to hear you guys talk about them for a while from the old WNEW/FreeFM/Krock days.

Sergio Pina

LOL. =)

Colin Moriarty

Fair enough, get to the choppah

I absolutely loved T2 when it was released. However, I had a stepfather that liked ruining things for me. He worked for a local company that manufactured semiconductors. When we saw the film together, he was quick to point out a plot hole that only techies would notice. Miles Dyson stated that the microprocessor from the original Terminator was broken, but they learned a lot from it. He pointed out that the only way they could’ve learned anything from a broken chip was to dissect it by chemically pealing back all the layers and studying them under an electron microscope. Thus, the chip would no longer be in one piece. This plot hole still bothers me to this day. It’s a nit pick I would never had made had my stepfather not planted the seed in my head 😐

Patrick A Crone

I already respect him! I just don't think he's a particularly talented actor. He's just got a magnetism.

Colin Moriarty

Definitely. Good friend.

What makes a real actor? Arnold needed to act like a robot, he’s a very good actor in my opinion. True Lies, Twins, both Terminators and Predator are amazing movies. Yeah Stallone is a better actor but all the Rockys are amazing, but if it wasn’t for that I see them very even actors. I know you’ve been reading the GoT books, which I just finished and it sucks where it ended but are great books, but you should find time to read “Total Recall” the autobiography of Arnold’s. It is a fantastic read and will give you a new respect for him

Shoutout to John’s red headed mullet friend for not giving up his boy when the T-1000 asked him if he knew John thus saving humanity.

Michael Miller

Ah, I'm sorry to hear he died.

Colin Moriarty

Interesting insight. =)

Colin Moriarty

That would be nice. I'd rather carve off as much shit from our list as possible, personally.

Colin Moriarty

Hope you enjoy our chat.

In regards to the Ron and Fez conversation. Ron is still on SiriusXM doing a radio show with his daughter now. I don’t know if he still broadcasts in New York locally though. Fez retired a while back before unfortunately passing away in August 2021.

Per the dog voice conversation in the beginning: I have a minor in Biology, so I am by no means an expert, but it’s my understanding that, for cute mammals like dogs that resemble the cuteness and intelligence of human babies, we naturally speak to them at or just above their “vocabulary,” which, for human babies, is how they continue to develop their vocabulary as their intellect develops until they can speak normally and we gradually stop speaking to them like babies. So, when Dagan says he “just can’t help it,” that’s because it’s our natural biological impulse to speak to them that way. And he’s also right about tone and inflection being most important. :)

You guys should just do a month of movies on knockback to allow yourself some breathing room for all the other stuff you have to do I love the long episodes but these short episodes on films are a nice change of pace

Craig Carter

My absolute favorite movie of all time. The river chase scene, the helicopter under the bridge, the intensity suspense. How cold and seemingly unstoppable the T-1000 is at all times. John's yell and voice, Arnold's very protective stoic performance, "chill out" "dipshit" "hasta la Vista baby" I fucken adore this movie. Since I was a kid nothings come close. Nothing. Maybe the Bourne Ultimatum, but this is my favorite movie of all time. And I believe it's the best action movie ever made.
