Only two years removed from near-unanimous Game of the Year Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and two years away from the even-more-unanimous Game of the Year The Last of Us, Uncharted 3 finds itself in a bit of a pickle, at least with some. After all, it wasn't directed by Amy Hennig, and many players felt it to be a weaker iteration than what preceded it. Yet, within its bounds is an absolutely stunning adventure, a wonderfully cinematic romp with the perfect balance of combat, puzzle-solving, and storytelling. Many at Naughty Dog think Uncharted 2 and 3 are only held at different levels of appreciation because of the order they were released in, and that if launched in the other direction, people would simply love 3 more than 2. 2022-07-24 04:58:48 +0000 UTCI remember when Adam Sessler reviewed this game, he gave it a 4 out of 5 and said while it’s a good game, it only made minor improvements which makes the game a disappointment. I’m sure he still stands by that review.

Uncharted 4 is not recent it’s from a previous generation and is closer to a decade old than not. But I think a veto decision could be made by you and Dagan to finish the the main storyline. I know we’d love to hear Dagans first time thoughts on it and your fresh reassessment. Waiting 4 years after this one seems more like a self inflicted wound, because the specific parameters above would equate out to the prime time content for the show. Obviously it’s not my show and will respect your decision no matter the route. But I also have admired the Colin that makes decisions off his gut like changing SS to a Friday show instead of Tuesday and paving his own path for the sake of producing the best show he can. I feel this would do that. All in all a great episode! Been a listener since the Beyond days! (Congrats on the engagement!!! You deserve the happiness!)

2022-07-18 22:44:20 +0000 UTCI really enjoyed this discussion! I really enjoy Uncharted 3 but my main difficulty is just that the hallucination sequences make me incredibly dizzy and motion sick. I don’t think I’ll play the game again for that reason, but there’s no doubt that this is fantastic game, especially for the time.
