This brought back memories of Sam Harris and a few other A-listers on Patreon suggesting that they'd leave when Carl Benjamin / Sargon of Akkad was thrown off of this platform and Paypal and then somehow SubscribeStar collapsed under the weight of activist demands - ie. when Alex Jones got deplatformed people didn't like the move but they understood him as far enough out there and potentially dangerous to where it was within allowances whereas the removal of Sargon was akin to blanket-banning someone like Ben Shapiro and was simply too deep a cut into common center-right territory to be allowed. To a similar degree blanket bans on discussing Covid cut both ways, not just against truly wacky Covid conspiracies but people who had important things to say that would have better nuanced our understanding of it (ie. the kind of thing where I'm sure Joe Rogan would have wanted to get a Ronda Patrick equivalent on there to talk about it and, indeed, he did have Ronda Patrick on talking about vitamin D supplementation and the like - I really hope they didn't fire warning shots at him over that interview as it was quite tame and responsible).

Basically, he popularized the podcast format, which is super important considering how authenticit and the anti-establishment this format is. Many people give him shit for changing over time, but I think he has done his part and we should be happy he was there for us in these times instead of discrediting him. Thanks for the video, it is an important subject. Also, fuck ThemTube!!! xd
