Today's guest -- Damon Weathers -- is Studio Coordinator at Legacy Effects, an award-winning practical effects team responsible for some of the awesome stuff you've seen in tons of Marvel movies, the Jurassic Park and Terminator franchises, and even shows like Grey's Anatomy. What does Damon do, and how do he and his team work alongside some of the great filmmakers in the world? Why are practical effects so important in such a digitized world? Hey Eli! Honestly, that's a lot of extra work for a show that doesn't really have a growing or substantial audience. If Fireside Chats was this huge, thriving show, I'd go out of my way to keep it going. But it's the lowest-hanging fruit, it's not worth the extra effort necessary to keep it alive, and our efforts can better be used elsewhere. I hope that makes sense. Thank you for your support!

I'm moving to Vancouver soon to try to find a job in the film industry so any and all film related content, the better! Colin, my bad if you've already gotten this question - it's unfortunate that you will be discontinuing FSC. I completely get where you're coming from. I know you're comfortable recording at your studio/set-up at home, but what if perhaps you meet future FSC contacts in public? Certainly there's a nearby library where there's a conference/study room that the 2 of you can meet to record. You could bring a friend or hire a security person to watch you 2 record each show or sit outside the door while you record. This would obviously require having to remotely bring equipment everytime, but it's just an idea! Keep up the amazing work, Colin. Glad to finally be a Patreon. -Eli from Ottawa
