I am poor. Yet every generation, I manage to get and play a bunch of games. New Releases might be getting more expensive, but that's not going to stop me from experiencing them. Most Triple-A titles are $59.99 currently and yet I don't ever pay full price for the ones I purchase. On the Digital Store, I exercise a virtue that all frugal gamers should cultivate- patience- and with that patience, I see, eventually, every game goes on sale or depreciates. I bought The Witcher 3 for $24.99 6 months after it came out, and the other day I saw it for $14.99 including all the DLC . I see games go on massive sales every week. Rocket League just went Free-to-Play. There are tons of great indie titles to try, all for $19.99 or less. Playstation Hits has great selections all for $19.99 as well. This is the best time to be a poor gamer, the only thing is that concessions must be made if you don't have a deep wallet. We all know the saying, "Beggars can't be Choosers." You might not get to play New Titles on the day of release, but if that's the issue, then I don't think that's a good enough reason for games to stay the same price or even get cheaper. Just think about it. I know we're programmed and conditioned to want everything to be cheap or "affordable", but we should give that sentiment a little more thought before we just let it fall out of our mouths. I worked in the Produce Department of a Grocery Store and a common complaint I heard is that "Asparagus is so expensive." There is a reason Asparagus is costly, it's not because the farmers set an arbitrary price on the vegetable, it's because there are exorbitant expenses and specific conditions and arduous grow times that require effort, effort that the common bloke is not going to put into growing Asparagus. So if you want Asparagus, you got to pay a premium price for it, and if not, it wouldn't be worth the effort and time for the farmers, then they'll say "fuck it, let's grow Chard." And then we will lament the extinction of Asparagus. So gamers beware and be careful what you wish for because the very thing you're pining about could ultimately cause the extinction of video games as we know it. And then all we'll be left with is Chard. Fucking Chard. Fairness is not a one-way street. If you think that games going to $70 is unfair, then you're neglecting to consider the people on the other side of the coin, the people who make the games, the people who publish the games, what's fair for them? These are people who simply make a product, they are not supposed to be philanthropists. They make a product and you're supposed to determine if it's worth your money. If you think games aren't worth $70 in the advent of the new generation, then your wallet has spoken, so you should heed it's cry. Colin is not right about everything, but as for the price of games, #ColinWasAndIsRight.

I think the underwhelming DMC5 announcement was at the showcase for the same reason that Sony kicked-off the previous showcase with GTA5 -- because it's indicative of the big things coming from those partnerships in the future. Rockstar's next non-gta title is rumored to be console exclusive (or at least timed), so it wouldn't surprise me if something similar was in the works with Capcom. Although, it is no doubt Street Fighter 6 related.

At the end of God of War, Kratos and Atreus go to Jotunheim to scatter Kratos's wife's ashes from the highest peak, as was her dying request, and the main goal of the game. The events of the game unfold because Kratos cant get to Jotunheim due to the door being closed. When they leave Jotunheim after achieving their goal, they find that time passes differently between realms, and what was only a few minutes/hours in Jotuheim was far more back in Midgard, and we're told at the end that Ragnarok is coming/starting when we get back.

I have to say i was surprised to see horizon forbidden west also coming to ps4, but since i won't upgrade yet to ps5 due to financial reasons, i might get that on ps4. Prices going up was expected and colin has been saying it for long years, but in Europe they are so f... expensive. 69.99$ is like almost 60€ plus tax in my country which is 23%, the price should be around 73.80€ not 80€. I'm of the mind that if a jump from $60 to $70 is that much of a life-ruiner for someone, they shouldn't be spending their money on games at all. What's detached from reality is that we've been paying $60 for games for 15 years, as inflation has eaten away at the value of the dollar, and -- more relevantly -- production costs have gone up. I like to talk in stark terms, that's how I roll. It's not personal against people who are struggling, and I'm not sure how I really came off like you're describing. Just some constructive criticism Colin, I think most gamers aren’t excited to be paying $70 for new games, and when you say you’re not sympathetic you kind of come off as someone who is out of touch with what life is like for the average person right now. The economy is worse than it has been in a long time. Regardless of whether or not this was just a matter of time, realize there are people barely making it by that are still your fans man. And they should be able to enjoy games as much as the next person. I don’t want this hobby to become a luxury that only middle class and rich people can afford. If I had to guess, the reason Spider-man isn't included in the PS Plus Collection is probably because the PS5 version of Miles Morales Ultimate edition (which retails for $70 compared to the $50 standard edition) includes Spider-man Remastered. Including the PS4 version of Spider-man as part of PS Plus could theoretically limit the number of people who would choose to go for the ultimate edition of the PS5 Miles Morales over the standard edition. Just a guess.

Hey guys. To me, the inclusion of Horizon Forbidden West as a cross gen game reads to me as Sony expecting a shortage of PS5 units until at least Horizon comes out. Colin I agree with you quite a bit on game prices and $70 isn't *too* unreasonable but £70 in the UK and 80 Euros in Europe is really pushing it. The area where I see huge problems is where Sony are charging these prices too. Destruction AllStars is £70?! Really?! This isn't insulting because of the quality of the game (it looks great!) but it looks like a multiplayer focused destruction derby game. It seems like a game that would be a smash hit if free-to-play or on PS Plus! £20-30 would've been a totally reasonable price too. I really don't have many assumptions about the quality of the game here but it's so obviously not a big budget AAA Sony exclusive in terms of scope or scale. I guess they're hoping because it's a launch title it'll sell anyway and will be attractive in console bundles over Christmas?

Yeah God of War “reveal” was lame. But on social media people were going crazy for it. I also watched several industry personalities react to the conference, and the God of War thing was a “oh shit” moment for them. So as lame as it was, it seems to have worked in terms of hyping people up and solidifying this idea that PS5 has a much stronger plan for next-gen compared to Series X.

The too expensive price argument was absolutely Insane considering the storage costs about 100 bucks, and the controller is worth 70. Therefore the main hardware of the PS5 costs an INSANE 230 dollars. Basically any decent GPU these days is going to more expensive than that alone.

Giving your opinion on the value/price of a good is a normal, and healthy practice.
